The best thing Liverpool can do for us is keep us honest until the final day of the season. No stepping off the gas as we did last season. One game at a time, in league and cups, until there are no games left to play. Then let's see where we are at.

We must play the next 7 games and treat each as a cup final. That would set us up nicely for the Liverpool game which they would have to win.
exactly all these points total mean nothing, it is all about momentum and confidence. if we win the next 7 then we go into the liverpool match with a big advantage and if we proceed to destroy them in that game then the title race is done in the first week of april, there is no coming back from that for pool.

They didn't really even miss Mane & Salah during their time at the AFCON.
I'm confident we'll win the title but i think they may win the CL

Referees helped them vs Palace, though. Remember, they dropped 7 pts over 3 games with Salah and Mane.

We are in a great position. I feel confident, but not because of stats and tendencies from the first 20 games or so. Teams hit or lose form during a season, and surprises, even big surprises, are certainly possible.

What makes me feel confident is the quality of the team. The potential is extremely high: we have an excellent defence, and we have incredible creativity: Cancelo, Rodri, Gundogan, Bernardo, KDB, Mahrez, Foden, Grealish, Jesus... This team is capable of exceptional performances. The difference with last season is that we had a winter break this season and most of the players haven't played a lot of minutes so far. Last season, most players peaked in February and weren't sufficiently fresh in the final 4-5 weeks, especially Rodri and Cancelo, but also Dias, Bernardo and Gundogan... This season, we are more likely to be in top form come April and May (but also more likely to have shaky moments in February). So, even if we drop points before Liverpool, we are likely to finish strongly, injuries permitting. It's probably the opposite with Liverpool: they have a brutal fixture schedule and will feel tiredness in the final weeks, imo. Some of their stars have played more minutes than Bernardo this season, and they are older than Bernie...

Bet you go on the Liverpool forum they’ll be saying the premier is in the bag! For some reason they the opposite to us as fans.

Spot on Ag9320. The next 7 are key and we must be totally up for each one and the home support could be key. Lisbon and Peterbro will be less pressure games and we should win, however......these 7 are the ones, close them out and don't give Liverpool a sniff.

I doubt it. Some Liverpool fans may think so, but they are probably a minority. They know we are very strong.

I think also that most City fans are optimistic. Nothing is decided yet, but most City fans realize we are in a great position.
