Don’t see more than 9 to be honest with the team put out yesterday. If it is 9 I think the league could already be out of our reach. Maybe that’s peps plan anyway as he wants champs league this year end of.
I agree with you, but surely to fook that ain't planned!!

I don’t think we have the squad for league & champs league so if he wants champs leave then it’s planned for me although it will be feb if we are to see it pan out that way. The club want champs league this year so league is 2/3 choice I recon with a cup higher up the order.

no chance, we'll try for all, but we may well fall short

Anything less than 18 would disappoint to be honest but early days yet so I’ll say 16; predicting a draw away to Chelsea.

just a comparison first 7 games last season:
Wolverhampton Wanderers1–3Manchester City
Manchester City2–5Leicester City
Leeds United1–1Manchester City
Manchester City1–0Arsenal
West Ham United1–1Manchester City
Sheffield United0–1Manchester City
Manchester City1–1Liverpool

12 points from 21.

those Leeds, WHU draws were very painful and we should have beaten them easily, while vs Liverpool we missed another pen didnt we?
we didnt concede much (apart from Leicester's massacre) but our finishing was horrible.

probably again it will be 10-11 points from first 21 now, but problem is Chelsea, Liverpool can beat us at home and gain extra points on same fixtures they lost to us last time.

It is amazing what a good result can do hey. The early posts after a substandard performance at Spurs were mostly doom and gloom to such an extent that the thread was vacated for the best part of the week. Yesterdays win appears to have lifted the gloom and raised the spirits moving forward.
Some tricky enough fixtures before we even get to the big two but if we can win the next 3 games I think we go to Chelsea in good form and in a good position. If we stumble over the next few weeks we go into this fixture under a lot of pressure.
I am unsure how we will do in these games but if we can end up on 13 points after the visit to the Cult I would be reasonably content. I would expect the leader to be on about 17 points at this stage and well within range. If we continue to improve our form this target should be attainable.
21 points would be an amazing haul and set us well on the way to retaining our crown.

will be interesting to see the Chelsea away and Pool away games last year without a top striker we won fairly comfortably at both away grounds but I think it had as much to do with Lampard's tactics and being out of his league really as a manager, and Klopp's injury disaster at CB position and the empty grounds as much as it had to do with our great from between January and April.
we seen the atmosphere in Pool-chelsea yesterday, thats gonna be a different match than when its fully empty due to covid.

we got 6 points from Stamford Bridge, Anfield, call me pessimistic but I can see those games as we only have 2-3 clearer chances unlike 7-8 vs Norwich or Arsenal where we were able to afford missing some sitters, but we wont be able to to miss them from much less clear opportunity.
Chelsea played 50 min with 10 man and still managed to close Liverpool out, and get a draw, I think that was proper top class reaction tactically from Tuchel and they still got few counters going with Lukaku setting up some chances due to his skill of quickly laying down balls to runners next too him. Clearly Tuchel knows how to use Lukaku while at United they wanted him to hold up the ball on the box, turn and score, at Chelsea he is used like at Inter where he really flourished.

i would be over the moon if we walk away with 3 points again from Stamford Bridge and Anfield and that would really send a message to everyone in PL but given the changes, the added motivation from rivals to beat us, fans being back and now even have PSG away fixture pushed between these two huge away league games, wow its hell of a month coming up, best thing to hope for we have a full squad instead of 2-3 of them coming back with various injuries from shit ass international games.

6 points from Stamford Bridge and Anfield and we'd be half way to the title.

Fair concerns those I reckon.
Our next game against Chelsea will be fascinating to see if Pep alters things in any significant way, whether he has learnt any lessons from his games vs Tuchel last season.

I'd like 9 from what we have left but I'd take 7. I think Liverpool can be beat, and I think avoiding defeat at Chelsea is important, but it's interesting having so many difficult away games this early in the season. Lots of opportunities to claw it back.

He has to match Chelsea's back 5 for a start. I think they would have beat Liverpool too yesterday if that pen and red doesnt happen. sitting back a bit, and counter Liverpool from 1-0 up I think would have worked as Liverpool would have got more desperate for the goal leaving more and more space behind...

really dont want us to lose 4 times to Tuchel in the space of like 5-6 months they would gain so much confidence of that.

That’s true. Although personally, losing against liverpool is always more painful.
