I think if you look hard enough you can see whatever you want to see in these sets of fixtures. Easy run-in, difficult run-in, but both sides will be big favourites in every league game they have left. If we play how we can do 6 more times, it’s ours.

We play first this time - good chance to put a little bit of added pressure into the derby down the road. Everton are truly an awful side but they’re scrapping for points.

City:
23.04. Watford (H)
26.04. Real Madrid (H)
30.04. Leeds (A)
04.05. Real Madrid (A)
08.05. Newcastle (H)
11.05. Wolves (A)
15.05. West Ham (A)
22.05. Aston Villa (H)

Liverpool:
24.04. Everton (H)
27.04. Villarreal (H)
30.04. Newcastle (A)
03.05. Villarreal (A)
07.05. Tottenham (H)
10.05. Aston Villa (A)
14.05. Chelsea (N)
18.05. Southampton (A)
22.05. Wolves (H)

It’s a good point and if they don’t they’ll be flat as a pancake also, loads of variables for both teams between now & the end of the season, we are all scrambling around looking for that 1% extra, it’s not usually teams that have something big to play for, it’s the teams in mid to lower table who are dangerous such as Villa, who have good attackers, lots of pace & can really turn up on any given day or maybe Newcastle who are safe & looking to build momentum

Yep agree. We can count on one thing and that’s Gerrard will be desperate to beat us for obvious reasons.

Much depends on the first CL legs. If we win vs Real convincingly, we won't hold back at Leeds. If Liverpool win big vs Villarreal, they will rotate in the 2nd leg and be fresh for Spurs... Too many variables. Luck is likely to play a role. Liverpool have had luck since their draw at Chelsea. Also, they have no injuries. This may change overnight, though.

Trust our team and enjoy the ride. Perhaps our best performances this season will come over the next few weeks.

If our lads can win the league from here it will be a monumental achievement. Beating the best team in the world to top spot will be Peps greatest achievement. We have no forward, no players that run thorough brick walls, crap defence, crap midfield, crap coach, crap everything!

It would really be a David v Goliath moment ;)

They play Villa away 3 days after Spurs and Southampton away 3-4 days after the FA Cup final. These 2 games also may be a problem for them.

Maths shows that both teams are likely to drop points. If we give City and Liverpool 85 % chance to win any of the 6 games (that's a bit high, though), then both teams will have only about 38 % chance to win all 6 games.

Personally, I think the game at Leeds may be more difficult for us than expected. Fortunately, it's 4 days after the 1st leg vs Real and 4 days before the 2nd leg. Liverpool will have it more difficult, for the game at Newcastle will be just 63 hours after the 1st leg vs Villarreal.
Yes indeed the Tuesday/Wed slot in the CL is normally the better one to have. However, it is highly likely the tie will be over in favour of the dippers after the first leg which will ease the pressure on them.
Dropped points seem statistically likely but both sides have shown they can close out a campaign without any leakages. I agree Leeds is a prime candidate for our slipup the the timing of the Villa game is tricky for them I think the Southampton game may depend on what happens in the Cup Final and what pressure we have managed to put them under.

I don't subscribe to the theory Liverpool will blow Villarreal away at all, I think they will be too much for them over two legs, but it'll be a battle.

If they are to drop points it will be in between or immediately after that tie for me, same for Chelsea FA Cup Final.

It could be a really tough tie, or Villarreal could conced early and it'll be a piece of piss.

They are a sit back and counter side, and they can be very dangerous on the counter but all it takes is a simple mistake or a bit of luck and they go down easily and the game is over.

IIRC They've won 1 league game after going behind in 2 years. Most of their losses involve conceding in the first 30 and never getting back into it.

If they can hold out the first half, teams tend to get frustrated, but Liverpool could just as easily come flying out of the blocks and have the game won 20 minutes in.

With the form they're in, Newcastle (A) for Liverpool might be the hardest game either of us have left.

They've won 6 straight at home and are unbeaten in 8 league games at home, haven't lost there since we played them in December.

Liverpool is their next home game.

And a 1230 start
Lovely, can't wait for Klopps excuses

Winning the remaining games wins City the title again which means continuing as before. Do-able especially with the return and winning mentality of Ruben.

What has been missing is the the threat of Sergio genius of scoring out of the blue? Definitely rectified for next season.

It really looks like it’s coming down to whoever blinks first. Liverpool are on a great roll at the moment and it’s hard to see anyone beating them let alone taking points off them. So, we need to win all our remaining games. We’ve done it before so why not do it again. It’s tough but doable.

Burnley play twice before that Liverpool-Everton game. Everton could be third from bottom, or only a point or two from being, so it could be one of the biggest games for decades for them!
I don't expect Everton to get anything, buuuuutttt if Lampard and their players want to apologize for a shite season getting a win at Anfield, taking a huge step in stopping Liverpool winning the title and securing their own safety, would be one way to do it.

Whatever happens this season, we will win the league again in the next 3 seasons and win the CL in the next 5. The possibility of Liverpool doing a quadruple and Everton getting relegated in the same season would do damage that would take a generation of the blue scousers to recover from.

Whatever we can get if we win all games. That murdering club will not drop points
