Some of these comments are mind-boggling. He was poor yesterday but he's been our best player for well over a month now.

I really don’t think he has been, 3 assists and 3 goals all season and hasn’t been as influential as expected, perhaps 1 MOTM performance?

I suspect Txiki knew exactly what he was doing with Gundo. The reason we don’t have dead money contracts like United is know when to let veteran players leave. The contract Barcelona gave is really dumb when you factor in the mileage on his legs.

Fair enough , I’d be hoping for 20 -25 GI per season from Phil in Prem if he played majority of matches (which he has been)

The onus is on Phil to get his numbers up now we’ve lost Mahrez and Gundogan and he is one of our main attacking focal points

It's indeed his lowest G/A per 90 over his young career but I don't judge City players and how they're playing based on a stat sheet. I just think he's been giving extremely mature performances, very much in the 'la pausa' style that Pep has always wanted of him. Even more so defensively, the angles he's pressing at, his work off the ball, etc. I just hope it hasn't come at the expense of him looking for goals because I think Phil's ability to put the ball into the net has always been one of his best attributes.

Neither do I, I’ve just expected more from him and don’t think he’s really stepped up, Bernardo doesn’t have the goal returns either but is significantly more influential. Foden has been promoted and is key to our starting 11 now, I’d like to see him bulk up a bit and take up a central role as neither Nunes, Phillips or Kovacic are the answer for me centrally

We do miss Gundo but can't argue that it would be hard to ask a 33 year old to carry the midfield load of 40+ games.

Yep definitely needed to get younger as maybe we can carry KDB as he gets older but we definitely don't want to be like PSG and ask others to carry Messi, Neymar and Mbappe!
