I think this season will be the one that marks us out as legendary, or otherwise. Quite a lot of turbulence losing Gundogan, Mahrez, Palmer, Laporte and Cancelo, plus a couple of other youngsters I would like us to have kept. I think we missed out on Eze’ from Palace. So far the perfect start, 12 points from 4, but unless we get punished for doing the same as the cartel have for the last few decades, I really can’t see us ever not being in contention for trophies, well at least for the next decade. Major threat is from Saudi Arabia. Anyway, to answer the question we need 95 points this time, so many teams have started well, I suspect there may be a couple of surprise teams that are in contention for Champions League, not Newcastle or Chelsea

We’re already legendary, either a PL or a CL win this season puts to bed any argument about who is the greatest English side ever - it’d be pointless to even discuss it

Don’t do public predictions. Last year I thought we’d piss it but Arsenal had an unexpectedly good season and lasted the pace far longer than I expected so you cannot rule out surprises this season.

We didn’t have an amazing transfer window but we look to have done good business. Kovacic was always a safe bet in my mind, Gvardiol has so far given no reason to suspect he’s not the generational talent he is cracked up to be. Doku and Nunes could be very good additions: they clearly have ability. What the personnel changes do mean is that we have even more pace and power in a younger squad that has been getting stronger physically whilst maintaining a very high level of technical ability.

Lillo’s return to the coaching staff is a welcome bonus.

The players look to be as hungry for success, which is probably the going to the biggest determinant of how City perform.

I don’t look at any of the other teams and go wow, they’ve really gone out there in the transfer window and closed the gap.

I was thinking Utd would be the main threat this year but it could be Liverpool if the Saudis don’t prise Salad out. Early days, of course. City just need to focus on being City.

Only team worried about is Liverpool they have some firepower!

Whereas we have some defensive power.

Yes, they have. And they will push us all the way again.

Thursday nights will have a huge impact in them. They will probably win the EL.
