The Newcastle board are kind of expecting a drop-off this season (as per the We Are Newcastle documentary) as it's particularly difficult for a team qualifying for the Champions League for the first time to maintain their league form. The documentary showed some stats on it and almost every team failed to get back in the next year. I would imagine that's only got worse since the introduction of FFP due to funding squad improvements in order to cope with the extra workload.

FFP will be dead soon when we've finally killed it.

That's why the cartel clubs are doing their death rattle of desperation.

Think this season maybe the first when it comes to our last few games tiredness creeps in! With the small squad the long season last season to. Think if lose one of the cups early as well could help especially when we have to go and play a couple of games in December
