I suspect we will be 5 behind Liverpool by the time we play them at home
So by my maths, you think we'll get 6 points from our next 12?

Brighton (H)
United (A)
Bournemouth (H)
Chelsea (A)

I assume you think 2 home wins and 2 away defeats? I can't see us getting beat at United or Chelsea.

That's pretty pessimistic even off today's showing.

Having seen 8 weeks of football i’m not overly worried about any of our rivals
Not convinced Arsenal are any better than last year
If we hit another run again in winter we’ll blow anyone away
It’s up to ourselves really if we can find consistent form again

So by my maths, you think we'll get 9 points from our next 12?

Bournemouth (H)
Chelsea (A)

Lets hope City prove me wrong, it could be worse than 6 tbh

Brighton (H) - draw
United (A) - draw
Bournemouth (H) - win
Chelsea (A) - draw

Rags and Chelsea away could both end up being losses the way we are playing

It has a feel to Pep's 1st season, winning matches initially and then never picked up. It's not Rodri and KDB issue, there is no flow or connection between so many players.

We have no “flow or connection” precisely because Rodri and kdb are missing. Having to rely on new players settling and being able to adjust to pep and city’s style is why we look uninspiring.

The biggest single problem is the delivery to Haaland. For all the good players we have, we can’t seem to pass a quality ball into the big fella.

I agree with this. We don't have many other players will to take risks with the ball.

One very notable one today in the first half, Bernie had the ball in midfield, Foden made a lovely run in behind White and had acres of space in behind...He ended up playing a simple 3 yard pass.

The midfield players need to take responsibility and play these passes in behind.

Everything is too slow and predictable with no KDB.

Arsenal do not strike any fear whatsoever, if they're our closest challengers we should be making even more history come May.

I don't see arsenal getting all that much better than they were today, they have saka to come back in and martinelli from the start and thats them at their peak
we on the other hand were a million miles off it and can expect substantial improvement as players become available and settle.

The only team I can see who have enough scope for improvement in them to compete are sadly the dippers. Spurs could be an outside bet threat if they were to maintain current form, they don't have a huge squad but there's a bit of depth in it in every position and with no European football it isn't out of the question they could maintain good form for a long period.

I think we will need a couple of January signings and probably better luck with injuries to enable us to hit the gears required to retain our title but we're still comfortable favourites to do so. I'd currently rank the dippers as our most likely threat, spurs second and arsenal third.

Liverpool 12 points from next 4 fixtures

Let the North London PL clubs share the October PL title each for 6 months.

That aside, do the gobby Tarquin c*nts never learn?

Except for Saka that was the best they could give us and it took a fluke to win it.

There's 30 games to go. We've got a few players to come back and a whole transfer window yet.

Never. Rule. Us. Out.

That, of course, is true

I don't know who they've got but that wouldn't surprise me. I can't see us getting the same but this shit week we've had means we kind of have to now.

Liverpool have had an awful lot of luck in games so far, theybhavent really strolled many games. chelsea they probably should have lost, I've not seen it but apparently Brighton should have snatched a win today, wolves should have been 3/4 up in the first half when they played them. You can get at liverpool. so whilst they probably should win most games I wouldn't be putting anything outside the bottom 4/5 down as a banker right now.

No guide to the future is meaningful, however, I think the title is most likely decided between City, Arsenal and Liverpool. I don’t see Spurs competing because their squad is too weak.

Of course it’s a Rodri and Kev issue. That’s exactly why we’re struggling.

Exactly and I am sure if you rewatch the match again you will see not one high quality pass into Erling. I am all for pass, pass and pass but have a point to it. Don’t just keep the ball for the sake of it. The midfielders are annoying the crap out of me. How can they not play a ball through the lines or an even simpler ball down the channels for Haaland to run into?

The handbrake is up. Are the players too tired? We rotate fairly well. After 20 min today when we did not take our chances we let the opponents start to get a grip of the game. We have a lethal goal scorer but can’t play him in?

It’s madness!!

It’s all on the lacklustre midfielders. High risk passing has been cancelled at city.
