If we're going to win it this year it will be the hardest so far

Add into it no team has won 4 in a row and also after winning the treble a drop off is to be expected.
Trust in pep.
If its meant to be its meant to be.
If not appreciate what's we've experienced in the last few years be grateful for it.
Don't expect anything.
After last season anything is a bonus.

Add in that the last 2 premier league chiefs have said Scudamore “it’s better for the premier league brand if the rags or dippers win the league” or words to that effect (pretty sure he wouldn’t have called them rags and dippers) and Masters “it’s not good for the brand for the same team to keep winning the league (us)” - I may be wrong

Last season Arsenal won lots of matches very late and they convinced themselves that was the mark of champions mostly in February and March. This season they’ve done it 4 times already and I wonder will they burn themselves out again.

The only thing is we can’t really afford to drop points in the next while otherwise we could 9 points behind at Christmas. We weren’t that far behind at any stage last season.

Arsenal have a tough run of fixtures coming up so the next 3 games for both of us will be telling. Hopefully we turn up tomorrow.

What a load of bollocks. Peak City in 18/19 when we won the last 14 on the bounce only conceded 4 goals in those 14 games.

We were ahead in all of them by the 70th minute at the latest and only were behind for 1 minute (Brighton).

Now that's what the best champions do...

Why are you guys crying? We were in a better position last year but still blew it. You guys are in the "shit" part of your season and usually end up going unbeaten after December.

If we arent 10 points clear, we arent winning. If Liverpool arent 6 points clear then they aint winning. Still City's to lose imo. If all teams are playing to their best, then City's best is >> Arsenal's and Liverpool's.
Every time we win the title, it makes it more and more difficult to still be that team you describe. We are not that team right now. Nobody has won 4 in a row for good reason.

Absolutely not. Don't think we'll ever see a season or run-in like 18/19: two best teams in Europe at the time where we had to be perfect for final third. Neither Arsenal nor this Liverpool are near those levels.
Correct. Best two teams in the world at the time. 14 wins in a row to win the league when 13 wins and a draw would not have got the job done. Most impressive title win in this country's history.

Our players last part of the season have continually stepped up and done the business! sooner or later players can't keep going to that well..

Also, Arsenal have won 6 of their 10 games by 1 goal which is not sustainable over the course of the season.

Love a good title race! We've been here before. Question this year is whether we have a "finishers" like Gundo and Mahrez around in key games to get key goals. We shall see but I feel reasonably confident we will be there at the business end

transfer window cannot be underestimated. after a treble win I think we should have done much better, give a big push to the squad.
we had that with Haaland last season and the plan was to get Bellingham and do the same this summer. that plan failed and the alternative plans failed too.

imagine Bellingham in the middle now in this City team, probably would not have those crazy number like at Real, but still he would drive the team forward, create chances, score goals, and push everyone else being really hungry for trophies. Rice has the same, that drive to push the team, hunger etc.

also quite a few players form dropped a lot from last season. Walker, Dias, Grealish especially. Ake too but he has lost his place a bit due to Gvardiol. he built on the trust from Pep for starting lots of games last season now he shares game time with Gvardiol complete different situation. Grealish also trust starting our crucial CL-PL games now he has to share gametime with Doku.

KDb out for 6 months is a brutal hit too. really worried he comes back and will have a setback. he used to have some injuries always here and there, almost impossible he returns early January and he goes injury free til end of May.

Stones and his setbacks another bad story...

only real positive is Doku's form in his debut season, but then we have to mention Kovacic, Nunes, Gvardiol who are not really an upgrade (yet?) on whoever they replacing and that means we are worse off.

thank God we didnt lose Bernardo (3rd summer in a row), imagine even he wouldnt be here alongside Gundo.

wouldnt mind some January replenishment and not some plan D, plan E level signings. get Phillips out hopefully for a decent fee even if with must buy option after a loan. (loan to Juve with no option to buy us paying his salary, fuck that idea off lol)

It’s a good point. Nothing wrong in celebrating, but my gut feeling is that Arsenal look too emotional/relieved at times, like they’re carrying huge amounts of nervous energy. That can be exhausting. Our job is to make their arses twitch all the time. Difference to last season is that Liverpool will be there as well.

Going life and death against mediocre teams isn’t the hallmark of champions, nor is wildly over celebrating what should be routine victories on a regular basis.

It all adds to their mental fatigue and that will cost them in May
What'll cost them in May is playing about 4 hours in every game just to make sure they're winning

We did that and got 100 points.

What costs you in may is throwing it away at the end not winning the game.

You weren't that team last season at this time either. If anything we were that team. Let Jan come and you'll see a whole different City.
