How many points will be needed to win the league?

Liverpool are currently on course to 84 pts. They are likely to win the games before City (might draw one from their away games, though) and will look like being on course to 88-89 pts. But, imo, they'll drop points in half of the remaining games and will finish below 86 pts. Let's hope I'm not underestimating them. IF they win the game at Anfield then 87-88 pts might be a genuine possibility for them.

Arsenal are a better football team than Liverpool (should have seen it from the games between them if you doubt it, the game at Anfield was fairly even), but they don't finish seasons strongly. Should overcome that tradition of being underwhelming in the last 8 games to properly compete for the title. Imo, they'll win about 84-85 pts.

If that's right, we can win the title even if we lose at Anfield and draw 3 of the other games. That will take us to 88 pts. Still think that fewer points are likely to be enough.

I don't see Arsenal as a threat either. I think Arteta's coaching style will make it really hard to win a major trophy. He is either high as a kite or trying to burn down PIGMOL. As a manager I really think you need to be more even keeled.
I think it will come down to recruitment again in the summer, as most of us would have thought heading into last years window Arsenal could make some big buys to get closer to City. Perhaps not anywhere near as good as the media hyped their window to be.

This upcoming window certainly feels key, but then again, I suppose they are all important.

I personally honestly imo thoroughly and wholeheartedly believe that whilst us, you and Liverpool are fighting for the top spot, Man Utd will come in and win it. Cementing ETH as the best ever manager imo personally.

Dropped points in any form is always welcome, but Arsenal will drop more than Liverpool, between now and the end of the season.

For that reason, an Arsenal win would be absolutely fantastic for us.

And then a win tomorrow for us would have that gap at two points, with a game in hand to play on both of them.
Nostradamus is alive!

we drew this fixture (Everton home) last season, everybody was beating them before and after our game but fucking Lampard nicked a point and was fired soon after.

time to win this time and that would mean we would get the different fixture to fixture down minus 5 points to last season.
it was minus 10 but beating Brentford away improved it to minus 7. beat Everton and its minus 5.
and if we beat Brentford at home too soon for the game in hand than its down to minus 2. that would be quite great given how many points we threw away in strange manner all from leading positions vs Pool, Spurs, Chelsea, Palace earlier the season.

I would probably sign 87 points (minus two to last season) right now. as long as it is with not losing at Anfield and at home vs Arse.
it would still allow us to drop 10 points out of maximum 48. so something like 11 wins, 5 draws gets us to 87 points or 12 wins, 2 draws, 2 losses.

and we fucking need teams to stand up to Arse and Pool, come on Kompany do a fucking surprise win with Burnley today (probably 5-1 win to Pool to even improve GD) and tomorrow Moyes has to repay us for giving them Phillips (probably simple 0-2).

would love a weekend of City win, Burnley nicking a draw and WHU winning with a VAR goal.

Must be close to level with last year's comparative fixtures with a win here and at Brentford.

Anyone got the stats on that?

Momentum building nicely, that's 6 league wins in a row now.

Our next 2 games are Chelsea and Brentford at home. We should be looking to pick up 6 points from those before our fixtures start to get a bit more difficult.
