The facts are that anybody can take points off anybody in this league. Last year Southampton who were rock bottom drew v Arsenal away and everybody thought they'd get hammered. We scraped past a Sheffield United team that is currently on 16 points with a last minute goal.

To write off anybody as too shit is total folly. United can certainly take points from Arsenal. I wouldn't even call it unlikely.

Also I think there's a little of "the be careful what you wish for" in hoping Villa beat Liverpool. A Spurs team with nothing to play for, no pressure and everything to prove could be dangerous. They demonstrably play worse when they are under a weight of expectation.

If City don’t go on to win the PL title, at least CIty have stopped Klopp and Liverpool from winning the PL title, which has saved millions of football fans in this country and around the world from non stop abject misery for the rest of their lives. :-)

United’s team is putrid, they could easily ship 5. They have a centre back partnership of Evans and Casemiro. Pity they won’t be the cup final pair.

One thing arsenal have got this season is luck in playing teams missing key players- off the top of my head- united today, wolves away, Chelsea at home, we were missing Rodri. I’m sure there’s others and perhaps we had some matches like that but it feels like it has happened a lot

do you really think spurs will want to help arsenal, not only their long standing rivalry but the fact that they were utter cunts at their place just a few weeks ago.

In truth I don't think the actual players or managers really think like that, beyond wanting to win their own game (or fuck the season off and get on their private yachts) they probably don't think too much other teams results that aren't directly affecting them. Personally, I don't think too many Spurs or United players are really too worried about who wins the league.
Supporters are a different matter
if you splash out £60 for a ticket obviously you want your team to win.

Players will always want to win, and they'll want to play in the CL if there's a chance. Also the fans you see on forums spouting bile represent something like 10% of the true supporter base, the majority of whom would prefer their own team to do well over anything else.
