I’ve just looked at our upcoming fixtures and the international break is well timed. Brighton next week is a must win as the games after that are proper tough and we could be a good few points behind Liverpool.
Which gives me confidence. There are no standout teams this year but a lot of good, competitive ones behind the three favourites like Brighton, Villa, Chelsea, Newcastle and Forest. A lot of points will be dropped. You may be able to lose six and still win it. Like the good ol' days before Pep came along and ripped up the rules.
...plus a labouring Erling who's work rate and movement has been only so so.Yes, I've been noticing that, too. Is it that unreasonable to expect professional footballers of any level, never mind being among the very best in the world, to get that few shots on target so as to at least make the keeper work? Bournemouth certainly didn't have that problem. A reasonable proportion, it seems to me, would be around about one-third of all your shots being under the bar and between the two posts.
Mind you, at half-time today we had had no shots either on or off target. And that, to me, is the sign of a mentally tired team.
This and only this! We do everything to stop players going on international duty for these meaningless nations league games.Just now it's Club before country for everyone !!
But the bastards will always score, they seem to regularly go behind, but have a number of players capable of getting the goals they need. Having said that, according to my dipper mate at work, ST holder, they haven’t been playing well this season.
He has 3 goals in 10 La Liga games. If a club offers you £80m for that level of goalscoring ability, you take it.If only we still had the Argentinian Neil Maupay …….
He was apparently shite according to some
