How many points to win the league?

Yeah, we cannot read too much into what happened so far, various things gonna happen. Tight calendar, pretty tough away fixtures as well before Christmas, to make guarantess in UCL you need to play more games than last season, we gonna loose some points.

But all in all team deserves great appreciation. We have been severely hit with Rodri injury. People complain KDB is regularly out and ageing, but hes gonna take this break really well. Hes a game changer, hes always been.

We lead the table now and already are 4 pet in. Players and staff are always there, competing, challenging. May say that the dedication is the least you have to expect from top level footballers, but its easier said than done when margins are so close, requirements so exorbitant.

Looks like its down to last years top 4 and Chelsea.
Any of these teams could go on a sustained winning run.
Ourselves and arsenal look weaker than last year, liverpool much the same but villa and especially Chelsea look much better than last season.
Squad size and player availability may be the deciding factor.
Unless we can get a fully functioning KDB back and a positive contribution from Echeverri and Bobb after Xmas, we may fall short.
Pep has to take a chance on fringe players like McAtee and Nunes at every available opportunity. Southampton yesterday was an ideal opportunity to start McAtee. If you can't get a decent run out against the bottom team, what chance is there against better opposition.
I know the chelsea squad size was a bit of a laugh but this may be a deciding factor. Several players , including the likes of Palmer, are not involved in the European matches and there has to be some advantage in that.

No chance Chelsea win the title

Don’t think either are at their best. The issue we have is that we’re not as defensively sound without Rodri or as creative without KGB or Rodri. If we can fight through to January and get KDB back soon plus add someone like Zubimendi we would be well set to challenge on every front.
When is Putin due back for us?

I’m starting to get a little concerned that we might not have our customary Autumn blip…
I wouldn’t say that just yet. Bournemouth and Brighton away aren’t easy games. We’ve got some awkward fixtures coming up. Get through the next four with three wins and a draw and we’ll be in a good position.

It's always nice to have a bit of a cushion but there's a hell of a long way to go. Somehow through injuries and fatigue we've got ourselves top of the table with grit, know how and a bit of luck.
That being said we've won games that on paper we'd be expected to win, except maybe Arsenal and Newcastle, which we didn't. Winning at Chelsea was a big bonus.
Still we are top on merit and who knows? I feel if Arsenal or Liverpool don't win it this season it will hit them hard, as we are probably at the weakest we've been for a few years. The Rodri loss is a big blow. Gundo somehow rediscovering his treble form and Kev coming back fit and firing would be a huge plus. Time will tell but as we've seen we aren't giving up the title without a hell of a fight.

Indeed.

Wouldn't suprise if we get an Akanji like signing cheap signing in January that's gets us over the line. Along with a fit Kev and Oscar Bobb appearing when we need them to push us through. Claudio Echeverri

Claudio Echeverri is also on his way. Not sure when he arrives, but I hope he is considered good enough to supplement the squad and not go out on loan.

Was surprised at how the Arsenal Liverpool match went. Arsenal fell apart once Gabriel went off and ended up playing like they did with 10 against us. Liverpool lacked a bit of a cutting edge when Arsenal were there for the taking.

I agree but even though everyone one can see we need that cover in January we are more likely to bloody let a player go than buy one . An injury to the big man and we are cooked so hopefully we buy .

Settle him in steadily a get in ready for the 25/26 season.

If Ossy Bobb returns to full fitness and condition by Xmas he'll feel like a new signing ans add options ro the squad.

Currently our squad is without -:
KdB
Kyle
Jack
Doc
Rodri
OBobb & are just getting Phil & Nat back to full fitness.

Great opportunity's for McAtee,O'Riley,Jacob & other CFA boys.

Gundo is a concern - I didn't think there'd be this drop-off we're seeing. It seems he's paying a high price for taking a drop down to La Liga for a year, and perhaps he is evidence of the difference in standard between the 2 leagues. Fingers crossed for him and KDB to come good for us.
In the meantime, in spite of everything, we're top of the league after the 1st quarter, roughly. Looking ahead, if we can maintain this till 1st December, a point at Anfield will be fine.
Arsenal must be pissed off - letting the lead slip against their rivals - again.

I am sure Gundo and Kev will come good for the business end of the season. They are both big game players. A point at Anfield is always fine. Arsenal are just too negative and cautious. They sat back and started faking injuries again at the weekend....and paid the price again.

Without Rodri I don't think we'll be the dominant force we usually are. Pep can plug gaps and find a way to give us the best balance possible, but I don't think we will be able to go and win as consistently. We've found a way up to now, but it was a stark contrast how dominant we were against Arsenal when he was on the pitch and how they immediately got into the game when he went off and prior to their red card.

Luckily they're an accident waiting to happen. Their squad is thin in attacking areas and they'll do well to get to 89pts - which I feel is the target this season.

The dippers have a lot of attacking threat and manage to win games even when leaking chances. But they will get picked off on occasion and I still feel like they're our biggest test because of Arsenal's lack of discipline.

When the going gets tough do either have the mental resolve we do? No.
