1-2-6 record of last 9 PL games. 5 points of 27

brutal.

we need to get CL place, nothing else is more important now. Wirtz or similar aint gonna sign if we dont get CL. unless we want to downgrade to Cunha or Eze who will be happy to play for Europa League too.

That's shocking.

It should focus minds to make sure that we at least start to turn losses into draws and work from there. Can't even believe I've written that!

Wirtz signed a new deal like three days ago.
And realistically, no player is going to be out off signing because we miss the CL for one year

Forget about a title race for a season folks. We're in a genuine race for CL football now which we're currently outsiders to get

Do you genuinely believe that?

I'd still have us as heavy favourites for at least fourth. Either a new defender in Jan, or just an end to the run of injuries to the centre backs, and there's no way Villa or Forest keep up with us, even in average form.

That arrogance my friend is leading you in for a shock, have you watched last couple of months? What new defender in January? From where? Yes i do genuinely believe were outsiders for top 4.

It's not arrogance - we're heavy favourites based on what this team has done, and can do, when fit. Remember this team were top of the table, and high in the CL table, just six weeks ago. And while they weren't looking amazing, they did that without Rodri and De Bruyne.

We've had a bad run, but the results have been close in most games, and as a few of the stats sites have pointed out, the underlying play isn't as bad as results suggest. Remember 8 of the 12 were away from home, almost all against top ten sides. Of the four home games, two were against Spurs and United, who just happen to be the two teams with the best record at the Etihad against Pep. There are plenty of winnable games, where the team won't be pushed in the next couple of months.

The fact is that this is the worst defensive injury crisis we've had in the last decade, and an injury crisis tends to resolve over time - that's what happens in football. All those players haven't become crap overnight, and Pep hasn't suddenly been found out after nearly 1000 games as a manager.

As for Forest and Villa. Villa are currently heading for a points total less than last season, have been in mixed form, and it's unusual for a team to get a CL spot, and improve the next season. Prior to the game yesterday, Villa had gained just three points on City, in the seven games since we went on this poor run. Getting fourth place doesn't involve anything like the form we've shown over the last few years, where we've finished 20-30 points clear of fifth place.

As for Forest, they are in great form, and there are often teams from mid-table who do well for part of the season, but it would be remarkable if they were close to the CL spots at the end of the season.

I'm not guaranteeing we'll get a top four spot, but we are definitely not outsiders. If you genuinely believe that, there's a huge chunk of money waiting on the betting exchanges for you :)

Fingers crossed you are right!

Unfortunately; some players have become crap overnight though. Walker being the main one.

Who the hell do we sign then? I’m not up on the comings and going’s in Europe but I know Wirtz and Musiala seemed to top most peoples list but if they have both done deals who’s next?

IF we do some decent business in January, then I still think we can finish 3rd or at the very least 4th.

Forest and Villa won't keep these levels up all season, and neither will we keep our current levels up.

It does hinge on us getting out of this defensive injury crisis, and us bringing in a couple of sensible, quality signings.

I can’t see us signing anyone in January unless it’s someone like that young midfielder from Valencia or someone like Douglas Luiz on loan until the Summer (not necessarily either of them, just examples like them).

If not us (I know), I’d much rather the dippers win it than the tarquins.

Attacking football versus Tony Pulis MKII?

A manager with a humorous personality versus Captain Thunderbird whinging about everything?

Despise Arsenal and their entitlement to things that they’ve done nothing to deserve for 20 years.

Dippers come to play. Arsenal come to time waste and make the 90 minutes as tedious as possible.

Plus, it’d mean Klippety’s league achievements would be matched in year 1 of a new project.

One other positive

It matches the rags 20 titles, meaning they've got absolutely no unique achievements left

The first priority in January is players for the midfield who can press and work hard. If we can get a couple in it might help. In Summer we need 4/5 more.

Liverpool will win the title easily in my opinion. They are way above the level of anyone else this season.
