the title race

I would say a points total of 88 is the minimum we would need to win the league. We have 52 with 14 games to go so that's 36 more.

That's 11 wins and 3 draws or 12 wins and 2 defeats. Possible but really unlikely. The other way of doing it is for the scum to fade. For them to get only say 87 (that's 31 in 15 games) they have to drop 14 points so maybe we need them to drop more than that, say 17 points. Can't see that as its 5 defeats and a draw in 14 games.

Not looking good is it but never say never and keep fighting till the end.

Everyone seems to thnk they're going to implode like last season. Not a chance that is happening again. We need to wing games like tonight and slowly close the gap. We're not making up 7 points in 4 games at the end if the season again.
Why cant they lose a couple of games eg Arsenal and Chelsea?
because they are a good team

so what are you saying they will win every game from now untill the end of season of course they will drop points there a good team no doubt but lady luck has been with them far to long chelsea were 7 points clear early on in the season and lost that lead in under two weeks yes they played united during that period but so do we have to play them, only a fool would write us off with 15 games to go ask bet fred

Bet fred will be laughing all the way to the bank if anyone backs use at 9/2

Aint gonna happen.

What ain't gonna happen? Is this the same thing wasn't going to happen last season?

-- Wed Jan 30, 2013 1:24 am --

They lost to Blackburn at the Swamp ast year, ffs. And they lost to Wigan. This season, they've lost to Norwich, Everton and Spurs and should have lost to Southampton. Their aging squad will lose more in this the second half of the season,
.

Bottom line is take RVP away and we are way in front. If we come second because of RVP's contribution, well there's absolutely nothing we can do about it other than sign 2 world class strikers in the summer in a move to do what RVP is currently doing for United. It is what it is.

fair enough, but we dont know rvp could break his leg tomorrow there goals could dry up faster than a tarts fanny without him, tevez could get his old form back its all ifs and buts and i'd be worried if there was no derby to come with 5 games left ,at the moment twitchy but not worried

with players like rooney hernandaz and welbeck i think united would cope handy enough in getting goals if anything happend to rvp
sniff sniff, again, in only 2 posts. SNIFF

How many clean sheets have the rags had this season? Barely any. If their strikers hit a bad patch and the goals dry up, they will lose plenty of games.

they won't, our forwards have been off form all season and I just can't see what is gonna get them into form, if they can, I can see a really good run for us with our defensive solidity, but they just don't seem to have their shooting boots this season.

dont be to down after tonights game there is never a script written in football especially after the way we won the title last year, funny though i always had that united home game down for the 3 points well before the match was played a bit of a banker i supose because i new we would win that game its the same again this season i'm taking the win at the swamp and adding the points now so in my strange mind we are only 1 point adrift tonight although they do have a game in hand so let them win that tomorrow they then will be 4 points up on us, beat liverpool and they lose in london its back to 1 point 'no games in hand'

just bank the points from the derby its easy stuff, but lose the derby and were dead and buried
I dont think we will win the title this year because of two reasons. Reason one, Teams have learned how to cope with our attack by parking the bus. SECOND REASON, We hurt them red bastards good time last year they are playing out of there skins to win it.

That second reason is probably the main one. They have a fantastic set of strikers who are scoring for fun while our 3 are struggling to convert chances into goals. Its going to take an almighty turn around in form especially from Tevez and Sergio to maintain a challenge right to the end.

Utterly disagree. Welbeck and Hernandez were shit on a sustained basis last season and Rooney is inconsistent to say the least of it. And their defence is shite, as are their keepers. If you think RVP isn't making the difference, you're the only one.

-- Wed Jan 30, 2013 2:50 am --

Sorry for the cliche, but form is temporary, class is permanent. At least one of them will go on a scoring run before too long. Probably Sergio.

No point in these threads if they lose the next 2 games and we win dippers its down to 1 point but if they win both and we lose ot will be 10 points...
