the title race

Bottom line is take RVP away and we are way in front. If we come second because of RVP's contribution, well there's absolutely nothing we can do about it other than sign 2 world class strikers in the summer in a move to do what RVP is currently doing for United. It is what it is.

What 2 world class players are you talking about Ronaldo or Messi which will never happen.

Looking a bit ominous at the moment but I think last season should serve as an example to those writing us off now. They´ll win tomorrow but there´s more tests to come and Van Persie aside everyone can see they have a problem of fading in the second half. A few away games may not necessarily see them lose but a couple of draws can change things.

It's not that i don't think they will drop points, they will. But i'm not confident that we won't drop more.

We need to make it to the swamp no more than the possible 7 points behind if they win tonight.

Anymore and is over.

Win the derby and we have a chance.

We don't have a killer instinct in games like last night.

Same as game against west ham. Gets to 70 mins no change in tactics, no urgency, maybe one or two chances creates....game fizzles out into draw.

Rodwell for tevez? What was that all about. Surely kolorov was the sub with dzeko told to stay in the box.

2 points down the shitter that one but if someone had offered us 6 wins and a draw in the 8 games from Newcastle most would have taken it.

As for rags, no one really knows what not having rvp would have done. Hernandez scores almost every game he plays so he would have scored some, Rooney some. They would be 4/5 points lower maybe but still in front.

At the moment ferguson is still a better manager than Mancini and that is the bigger difference between the teams.

2 points dropped against a keeper who played shit apart from a couple of really good saves. He'll return to total shit again after tonight.

We're not down and out by any means, come on when have we ever done anything the easy way? That would be boring...we're City it's how we operate.

Loads of games left still well in the hunt.

You've touched on it for me. It's a mentality issue. If united are drawing or losing coming into the closing stages, they'll pin teams back and go for it like their life depends on it. Most of the time defences in England will crumble at being stretched against pace and united's willingness to throw everything at them.
It's a winning mentality that has been built up over years, they don't accept defeat. City would in my opinion beat them most of the time in a once off but until we see an attitude from City that anything other than a victory is not acceptable, we'll continue to drop silly points.
There's also been a suggestion that we can live without pace and a poacher type player which I disagree with fundamentally. We have a 'target man' in Dzecko and two 'second strikers' who can come deep and run the channels but we're crying out for a proper clinical goal scorer to be on the end of things.
A pacey winger, ala Lennon at Spurs for instance, would be a huge asset too. I know we have Sinclair but Roberto doesn't rate him.
We're looking great again defensively and will have more composure in the middle when Yaya is back.
I can't see us winning it this year but if we address the problems above then it should see us in good stead next season

I like to keep a positive attitude, but everyone keeps going on about 7 points clear last year and they fucked it up.. Do you really think they would make the same mistake again?

I Still believe though

"ferguson is the better manager"
As much as it hurts, I have to agree, if we'd swapped managers at the start of the season we'd be well clear of them, even with van Persie
