There are actually scenarios where either of them can get into Conference League via 8th place. It starts with Chelsea winning their UCoL final (along with Top 5) and Newcastle’s Carabao Cup UCoL spot dropping down if they finish Top 6

Are you sure this is correct? I've read that Chelsea winning the Conference League won't mean European qualification dropping an extra place in this scenario so 8th now can't qualify for Europe.

Brighton are only 2 points clear of Bournemouth, so even if Brighton beat LFC Bournemouth could still overhaul them with two wins.
Of course you are right. Hopefully that means they won’t just park the bus tomorrow ….tomorrow how quick a turn around is that!

Chelsea have to finish 7th in the league and win the conference league for 8th to qualify for Europe.

Unless that exact scenario occurs 8th isn't good enough.

Which is a real possibility, as things stand.

So we need Brighton to beat Liverpool tonight, meaning neither Bournemouth nor Fulham could finish 8th, then?

That's correct re Chelsea finishing 7th. Not sure about Chelsea 6th and Newcastle 7th. Surely then Chelsea just qualify for the Europa via the league spot and Newcastle get the Conference via their League Cup win. (So in that specific case 7th doesn't actually give you a European spot; e.g. if (can't happen now) Brighton finished 7th and Newcastle 8th Brighton would not be in Europe.)

There were two scenarios yesterday. Not sure if they both still apply today or not!

If Chelsea win the Conference League and finish sixth and Newcastle finish in seventh, or Chelsea win the Conference League and Chelsea finish seventh, the Premier League gets an extra team in the Europa League, and 10 in Europe, according to ESPN's Dale Johnson.

Think it is possible still... Newcastle lose heavily to Everton so their GD drops below Chelsea's despite them losing to Forest. City/Villa do their bit to climb above both as well as Forest. The probability of that is probably very low if they've suggested Chelsea winning the conference and finishing 7th is 22.8%.

Makes no difference really.

If Brighton win then Bournemouth and Fulham wouldn't try as hard but would happily camp in their box and take a point. If Brighton don't win then Bournemouth and Fulham will try a bit harder but won't camp in their box and take the point.

It's up to us.

If Brighton win, Bournemouth would need to win both of their remaining games to have a chance of 8th and Europe - a point against us wouldn’t help them.

A Brighton win would also end Fulham’s chances before we play them.

We've got to do our job, Bournemouth are going to play to win on Tuesday and it's Fulham's last game of the season at home so they'll want a good result. I'm assuming Huijsen and Kerkez won't play now both are leaving - so that's a huge boost for us.

It's our last home game of the season after just losing the cup final. It's De Bruyne's last game at the Etihad. The fans will be bang up for it I'm sure and we'll get the result we need.

Win Tuesday and then stick £100 on Villa, Newcastle, Chelsea and Fulham Acca. You’ll either see us in the CL or win £800
You are getting ripped off if you are only getting £800.... True odds are its over a 25/1 shot

Villa 4/5
Chelsea 6/5
Fulham 4/1
Newcastle 2/5
