Admittedly I did think Palace would bend over but it's a 7 point swing with our goal difference so second seems tricky enough. 5th will do for me.It’s happening!

Hehe a happy post ;)Our last four fixtures are home, away, home, away. That's HAHA, it's quite clearly the universe's way of telling us that we are laughing all the way to top 5.
A season like 2017/18 would be epic!Focus shouldn't just be on top 5 now because we're going to do that. The focus should be what it was in 2016/17. Finish the season strongly (4 wins) and get ready for an assault on the league next season.
Inevitably…Worst prem in many a year - no stand out team setting standards and records, no competitive fight for the title. Not Liverpool's fault, but when the fight for 5th is the big talking point - you know irs been a boring, shit season.
What about being relegated lol you know we all know we are banged to rights lol1/10 to finish in the top 5. Interestingly we're 16/1 to finish in the top 2 with Bet365

Don’t agree at all. If there is a stand out team setting records then all that means is that 1 team is very good. It does not necessarily mean the league as a whole is good.Worst prem in many a year - no stand out team setting standards and records, no competitive fight for the title. The bottom 3 being so poor has not helped and LiVARpool have easily been the best and most consistent team.
The teams in the top 7 are all pretty good teams, e.g look at how Villa have done so well in CL. But the middling teams have improved a lot making them harder to beat, e.g Bournemouth, Forest, Brighton, Fulham etc
I said to anyone who'd listen (not many do, to be honest) back in december that the TMM mob would stroll to the title. And that's pretty much what they done, even with their iffy form over the last few games. They haven't set the world on fire recently, but they're getting the wins that'll get them over the line. What more do you need to do, when there's no credible challenger this season. The Tarqs? Nah, they haven't got the mentality to take that last step. City? Not this season, unfortunately. Those 3 months before Christmas killed us. Since new year's day, we've lost 3 PL games (Tarqs, TMM and Forest) out of 15. Brilliant? No, of course not. But compared to those months before Christmas, a marked improvement in results, if not performances.Would be hilarious if we, who have been largely shite for a large part of the season, got 2nd while the Dippers are trying to argue that it isn't a shite league this year with no proper title challenge.
For me there was no title race and it panned out exactly as I called it in November once it was clear that we wouldn't be winning it
Well yes the great City teams would have done so I agree. But surely it’s the league as a whole that determines how good it is rather than just the best team.I completely disagree with you on that. The City side from a few seasons back would have wiped the floor with the majority of the teams in this league. Villa played Club Bruges and then PSG who knocked them out. The dippers were outplayed by PSG across the two legs, but PSG aren't a standout side in Europe. Look at the way Arsenal dismantled Real.
The standard in Europe is pretty woeful in my opinion. It's a shame we're not good enough to profit as the side we had that won the last 4 league titles would blow away anyone left in the competition in my opinion.

And if you look at PSG they wiped the floor with us and look a smashing team from what I’ve seen
If Newcastle and Forest both win there games in hand we will be back down to 5th.
