Not pretty at all when you look at it like that.

11 sides have lost as many or fewer games that us , we really are mid table and I wouldn't be surprised if we finish outside Europe altogether or Thursday night at best.

I think Palace have chalked up more points than us since the start of December FFS.
That would be a disaster for the club.

That would be a disaster for a club.
Happened to every club bar us in the past 14 years but things can change quicker than you might think.

We are a proven top tier team now , notwithstanding some corruption off the field that we wrongly get slapped for we will return to better days but we first need an overhaul to the squad like we did when Pep first took the reigns.

It will take longer than he managed to break all records the likes we might never see again and a bigger challenge but we will come good again under Pep if he wishes for another challenge at City.

I see this written a lot, if we don't qualify for Champs League it's 'a disaster'.

Why so? How long will this disaster last? Are we more prone to it's negative effect than arsenal, Liverpool or chelsea? I'm just curious on your view, not having a go

I suppose it's a positive that 6 of our last 10 games are at home and the 4 away games are all at venues where City took maximum points from the previous visit

The only negative is that I wouldn't even trust us to win at Southampton, never mind United Fulham and Everton

47 points. 10 games left.

Still think we need 70 points to be absolutely sure of top 4.. so we'll have to notch up 7 wins and some draws.

Hopefully we can do it without depending on results for the last 2 fixtures.

In any normal Pep season, I would be backing us to win all of them. Thankfully, we won’t need to. It’s a very kind run in. We should be winning all the home games and hopefully nick a win or two away.

No I don’t think we will, maybe scrape 5th … and I can’t see us winning the FA Cup either.

Ask Liv, MU, Ars, even Che how long it can last! Our all business model is based on the fact we are always competing for the title and we are always in the CL. That's how we get sponsors, adverts, world-wide support bringing in the green stuff called money. And money earned has made us one of the most financially sound football clubs around. They are not expanding Etihad for pigeons!

The flapothon begins.

We‘ve just come off a run of Chelsea, Arsenal, Newcastle, Liverpool, Spurs and Forest and we’re still in the Champions League places.

Every remaining game for us if very winnable.

I reckon we’ll finish third.

Ta. I would argue that owners as business savvy as ours would not predicate an entire business model on certainty of qualification to a competition that has proven, over the years, to be reasonably cyclical.

Surely, at some point, somewhere someone at a board table has said "what if we don't get that qualification boss?". And so the bean heads work out for how many years reputation degrades and for how long we can strongly compete with the exact set up in place at point of missing out. As you say on your reply, we're really financially sound, why wouldn't they mitigate for being out of Europe?

We're an old club with a great fan base but I'm not deluded, we don't have the broad base Liverpool and United do that make them a bit more resilient and able to draw large sponsors while being on the fringes, but big sponsors are also run by business folks who can see the model at City is tight, the brand is going upwards and we're a good partner.

As for players, there are countless examples of great players either going to clubs who've missed out on champs league who normally make it or great players going to clubs who don't even usually get in the top 4. Look at the steady trickle upwards of class talent from non CL teams to the top teams.

I do agree that being out of Europe (CL) is probably more negative than being in, and we do seem to have a crowd issue when it comes to Europe, but I cannot see that not qualifying this season as a "disaster". I just can't see it.

We've lost something like 50% of or last 30 games in all competitions and pretty much a quarter of league games for a whole season with still a quarter of the season to go. Every game might be winnable but we have already been beaten by Villa, Brighton, Bournemouth and the rags, as well as drawing to palace and Everton. People aren't flapping we are just pointing out that CL isn't a certainty by any stretch of the imagination.

We've got a very favourable fixture schedule ahead of us now. We have played all of the current top 9 away from home already, we've got Brighton, villa and bournemouth at home to come which could be vital games, when those and we create a gap on all of them and we've got 5 games against the current bottom 7 and then games against Palace and fulham.

Just looking at Chelsea, they have to play arsenal, Dippers, forest and newcastle as well as derbies against fulahm, spurs and united.

The chasing pack behind have plenty of games against the top 4 and the team around then which means someone's dropping points. We've got a big advantage with our fixtures. If we can't get it done and get top 5, pep may aswell pack it all in.

Do you think we’d be treated as leniently in the world of PSR for any infractions that falling out of the Champions League would bring about? We give them a sniff and they’d be all over us. We do not need that imo!!

How bad would finishing outside cl places be? I get that it's not good, but do recent financial returns not mean that a year in the 'wilderness' would be fine?

For a start its almost certainly top 5

We've got 10 games left, 6 at home

We should do it comfortably and if we don't its a major fuck up

We are capable of anything this season, especially a few more last minute defeats like umpteen others.
