top 5 is champs league

happy to be 6th and do the Uefa cup for a season

I would like us to win that in the future, but right now a season outside of top 4 when we are so desperate for a rebuild could be fatal.

We could be going from looking at the likes of Wirtz, Cherki etc to looking at James Madison.

no it wouldnt

Do you think we’d be treated as leniently in the world of PSR for any infractions that falling out of the Champions League would bring about? We give them a sniff and they’d be all over us. We do not need that imo!!

I don't see that it makes a difference? Infraction or not? And the club world cup offsets a season or two of lost revenue, compared to most clubs.

Ridiculous take. It would kill us in the state we are in!! We’d lose several top players and not be able to attract the ones we desperately require. Imperative we finish in the Champions League this season more than any other, with PSR ramifications about!!

Man City v Brighton
Man City v Leicester
Man Utd v Man City
Man City v Crystal Palace
Everton v Man City
Man City v Aston Villa
Man City v Wolves
Southampton v Man City
Man City v Bournemouth
Fulham v Man City

ngl, i thought the run in was much trickier in my head for some reason.

nonsense

we wouldn't lose anyone and PSR isn't an issue

We've lost something like 50% of or last 30 games in all competitions and pretty much a quarter of league games for a whole season with still a quarter of the season to go. Every game might be winnable but we have already been beaten by Villa, Brighton, Bournemouth and the rags, as well as drawing to palace and Everton. People aren't flapping we are just pointing out that CL isn't a certainty by any stretch of the imagination.
It’s not a certainty, but it’s incredibly likely.

Its not the worst (thankfully), January/Feb/March was horrific, so it had to ease. But we’re hardly full of confidence, its by no means assured. 5th likely getting a CL place has come at a great time for us potentially!!

We should be winning all of these but ……..

Of course we would…
The players will leave if not in the champopns league myth has been dispelled with various clubs and out recent financial reports show we can absorb finishing outside the top 4/5 for a season.

too many on here believe the bullshit the press speculate about, we are now a draw player wise playing in the Uefa cup a season won't deter people.

to think so is red shirt snobbery and insults our present status

I was hoping we'd kick on and maybe get 2nd after the new signings.

Ok we have CH's littering the sick bay but we've still got just about enough and scarily apart from Rodders an almost fully fit midfield & forward line.

What's being produced on the pitch just isn't good enough.

6 home games & Soton away should still give us enough points for 3/4/5 spot.

Imagine how we'd have been today if we'd just played Madrid in the CL.....that's proper scary.

A much kinder run. Somehow we have to find that extra bit of cutting edge that is currently lacking.

our next four will says a lot about our CL chances. Brighton home, Leicester home, rags away, Palace home. 3 of them at home if we do 10-12 points we will be favorites for 3rd. if there are draws and losses in these four its gonna be a sick tight run in.

its an advantage that vs all clubs with some chance for CL places and still to play them are Brighton, Bournemouth, Villa, but their intensity is really not something Pep likes. we lost all 3 games away from home. they know how to hurt us tactically. but its crucial not to lose those games due to how close they are.
would have been important v Forest but fuck knows what we prepared for all week.

That’s a tricky run in. I’d say Leicester and Saints are our only “easier” games and even then Vardy will probably pop up with a winner. Don’t fancy our chances to get top 5 tbh. More teams around us playing in better form.
