  • Injured - Stones, Akanji, Ake
  • Legs gone - De Bruyne, Gundogan, Kovakic
  • Heads gone - Foden, Bernado, Grealish
  • Headless chickens - Doku, Savinho, Lewis
  • Not fully fit - Dias
  • Not good enough - Nunes, Mcatee
Leaves us with the new guys, Haaland, Gvardiol (who can’t defend) & Rodri/Bobb (recovering from injuries).

We will carry on in erratic fashion as we have all season.

No point in being in the CL with the present squad.

Overall, very true.

Bolded part true performance wise as we saw this year. Financially it is still vital to get there - even just to lose mostly.

Man City v Brighton - 0 points Brighton currently in much better form
Man City v Leicester - 3 points should be winning this
Man Utd v Man City - 0 points. Rags to raise their game and Amorim has got the better of Pep twice this season already
Man City v Crystal Palace - 0 points. Palace in much better form. Expect them to run all over us.
Everton v Man City - 0 points. They will make it difficult for us with physical players.
Man City v Aston Villa - 0 points. Much better side and Europe to play for.
Man City v Wolves 3 points just.
Southampton v Man City - 3 points. They should be down.
Man City v Bournemouth - 0 points. Much better side and Europe to play for.
Fulham v Man City - Ditto

Sorry to be the harbinger of doom.

I’m sure some posters will try and put a positive spin on it.

Think we’ll finish in 7th on 56 points.

Rags to win the Europa league making it a disastrous season.

Bet you’re a barrel of laughs on a night out.

That’s a tricky run in. I’d say Leicester and Saints are our only “easier” games and even then Vardy will probably pop up with a winner. Don’t fancy our chances to get top 5 tbh. More teams around us playing in better form.
Tricky run my arse. Guardiola and the players need to get their finger out and actually perform. Enough of this slow , blunt football.
If we are going to drop points at least do so playing attacking football with a purpose.
Entertainment wise for the most part our performances would send you to sleep. He's the greatest manager out there surely he can come up with better than this.

We should just shut the club down then.
Getting in the CL is vital to this rebuild for me, financially it is so important.

Fulham, Bournemouth and Villa are apparently "much better sides" yet all three are below us in the table. I'm not dismissing their threat here, but your post smacks of being negative/edgy for the sake of it - you don't by chance happen to work for Talksport do you?

However, the 'head's gone' category is recoverable as is 'injured' and 'headless chickens' can grow heads. Mo Salah was once very much a headless chicken.

Well we started the season with Rodri and were top. If the season started from then, Bournemouth would be ahead of us. At this moment, they are a better side than we are. In fact, I'd probably say that Brentford and Villa are better than us at the moment.

City have a higher potential but that requires Pep to wake from a 6 month hibernation.

IMO most of the rebuilding is done but we can't see it yet. This season has not yet run its course

But the season doesn't start from after game 12, October or whatever point we wish to judge form from.

Over the course of the season is how you are judged, and so far we've been better than Villa, Bournemouth and Fulham, who the previous poster said were "much better sides" than us.

We can only hope that remains to be the case after 38 games.

come on Leicester, Spurs today. surprise wins please. and Hammers tomorrow please.

what a fucking shit round if all Forest, Chelsea, Barcodes, Brighton, Villa, Bournemouth winning 3 points while we lose. surely not happening.

7 clubs going for 3 CL places. 4 of them will miss out. better be not us.

Haha his cup isn't even half full is it?

As well as being below us we gave the entire league a 2 month option to get past us too and guess what although nowhere near firing properly we're still to my mind almost certain to be in the CL next season.

Is it actually worth finishing in the top 5 this season? Financials aside, this team isn’t going to make an impact next season in the UCL. Therefore personally I would rather focus on trying to improve our league position next season and go for a domestic cup without European distractions.

Top 5? What happened to the Top 4 race?

Can we make it the Top 7 race instead?

Win T'Coop, Thursday nights against - mostly - shit teams in Europa League. What's not to like.

Better still, don't win cup, finish 7th, Conference League against teams nobody has heard off in the back end of nowhere. Brilliant! Oh, and 2 less games to play.

You can't ignore financial.
We are going to be in Europe next season, even if its not the champions league
