Leaves us with the new guys, Haaland, Gvardiol (who can’t defend) & Rodri/Bobb (recovering from injuries).

We will carry on in erratic fashion as we have all season.

No point in being in the CL with the present squad.

I think the insane standards of the past few seasons has warped a lot of our fans’ sense of perspective.

We’ve actually lost less league games so far this season than we did when we won the league in 1968. Amassing 90 plus points in a season isn’t normal, or at least wasn’t until recent seasons.

Wouldn’t be surprised if we went unbeaten for the rest of the season. And if we falter, and don’t finish top five, the world isn’t going to end, it’s what we deserve and we go again next season.

You have to be a member of the premier league first, then top five. Multiple criteria. And that’s before any ancillary requirements such as playing all the allotted games, filing accounts on time etc..And what about any extraneous UEFA regulations? They surely form part of the equation too.

I tried to find something about white nets / triangular flags / 22mm grass /,players being older than 12 / Doris doing the banking correctly- nada. Just the above which stipulates league position and league position alone.
