Trying to do all the ifs and buts, but I can't help but think we've fucked it today

Villa will beat Spurs and United and finish on 69
IF we beat Bournemouth we move onto 68, and would need a point at fulham to finish above Villa. The issue is, after watching that today it's difficult to see us getting 4 points out of 6, I hope I'm wrong

Forest win tomorrow and at WHU go up to 67, with a shootout against Chelsea

Starting to think our best chance is Chelsea beating Newcastle tomorrow, and them then getting beat at Arsenal as well

Just struggling to see us finishing off with a bang after today
Yeah today has really hurt!
I've gone back to a "no" vote.
If we can't win today I don't see a win at Fulham, and Bournemouth are capable of preventing a win (which is the minimum needed from that now).
Yeah "glass half full" but that's been our season in a nutshell

I've got
Us
Newcastle
Chelsea
Villa
All on 69 points with forest on 65
I must admit I got the same. If we can get 4 points from our last two games then our goal difference should make us ok. We may be doing Forest a disservice though! Ultimately though, if we do come 6th or 7th then that is how good we are.

If you’re right Villa’s goal difference does it for them. Can’t see Forest dropping points against Leicester and West Ham. Puts them on 67 with Chelsea to play.

Worst thing is united could easily get champions league as they have Spurs to play, while we’re in Europa. The thought of it almost makes me physically ill.
Tbf Forest’s last 5 games they’ve lost 3, drew 1 and won 1 so wouldn’t be overly surprising if they dropped more against Leicester or West Ham.

Today was annoying but I still prefer to be in our position compared to any of the others and their fixtures.

until we play next time these games all to be played:
Forest-Leicester
Liverpool-Arsenal
Newcastle-Chelsea
Chelsea-rags
Villa-Spurs
WHU-Forest
Arsenal-Newcastle

then we are hosting Bournemouth on the 20th 3 days after FA final while they sit back and prepare 10 days for that game alone.

sadly potential banana skin games for Villa and Chelsea became easy wins due to dippers didnt give a shit last weekend or rags ad spurs wont give a shit next week days before their EL final.

but not beating Soton is just criminal either way.

As shit and inexcusable today was… we’ll be ok. The other teams will drop enough points for us to make top 5

3 maybe 4 points will be enough

Like many have said, it's going to be touch and go until the end of the season. However if you'd of given me this scenario back in January when we were playing as consistently shite as we did today, I'd of snapped your hand off. It's in our hands with 2 games to go, I'd much rather be in our position not relying on other teams. All that being said if someone asked me if id rather win FA cup or get CL. Give me that FA cup any day of the week. We could still end up doing both!

Crazy lineup

Agreed. I half understand why he did it as he wanted to give players like Haaland, who hasn't played for a while, a game before the cup final. Like most of us he probably thought we should have enough to beat an awful Southampton side and we should have. Sadly we played like our awful period of a few months ago. He has to stick with the lineup that beat Forest in the semi final but knowing Pep.he probably won't.

The permutations are doing my head in. IF City win the FA Cup then Conference League qualification goes down to 8th which will/may mean that both Bournemouth and Fulham are still playing for 'trophies' when we play them.

Villa have Spurs and the rags, both won't give a fuck as they're concentrating on their final.
Villa play the rags after the europa final, and it will be the rags’ last home game of the season - I’d still expect Villa to win, but it should be tighter than the spurs game.

Shockingly bad management today. No excuses if we fail to get into the top five after that. It's all down to Pep's selection and tactics. Really disappointing to see such unnecessary experimentation in a crucial game - not for the first time either. He cost us a CL trophy doing exactly this.
I've criticized Pep today myself, but the players we had on the pitch should still be more than enough to beat one of the worst EPL sides of all time, regardless of tactics. We're still better than them in every single position, by a margin.

Wouldn’t worry about that, Bournemouth didn’t look like they were playing for anything today or Fulham.

If it helps Opta still have us down at 91% to make CL & Betfair have us at about 86% to do it.

Today just means it’s likely going to go down to the last day.

As per today , they had better player at Lewis,Bernardo,Foden and McAtee's positions.
