Tbh, I’m not convinced any team gets excited by the prospect of getting into the Conference League.

United are to blame for this, the looking down at European comps that are no CL started with them and let’s be honest we’ve joined in a CL regular.

As a player playing Europe is far better then not, Conference League good chance you end up in middle of nowhere and not stadiums you’d have dreamed to play in.

But if I’m player who doesn’t play CL, I would much rather that then not.

You don’t get that long as a footballer they will want to experience.

I fully expect a win against Bournemouth will see us through, but not that sure we will get it.

Lot’s of little scenarios can play out when you look at it and some other results last couple of weeks for other teams could have relieved some pressure.

Lets see what the team has got.

We have to presume villa will beat the rags at the swamp - utd are on the beach and they are shit anyway and after the cup game Wednesday whatever the result they wont be interested - that should be a gimme for Villa

Newcastle have got Everton at home - that should also be an easy 3 pts

Chelsea have got the hardest game vs forest - both have to win to have any chance at CL

We simply have to beat Bournmouth - if we dont we could easily miss out as Fulham away is not an easy game - they will want to stop us -small pitch, close to the stands last game of the season - really not a great one to have.

Forest draw or win at home to a Chelsea we can get battered on the last day, it won't matter as long as we beat Bournemouth.

If that happens worst case scenario is we finish 5th.

Hundreds name them?
Stat City say Pep has managed 527 games and won 367 of them. He’s s famed for managing the squad’s workload to ensure the players peak at the end of the season when it counts and he does this by rotating his squad

I don’t need to name them. The received wisdom is that he changes many winning teams and keeps on winning games.

You do the research if you think it disproves my initial claim. Of course if the facts don’t bear out your opinion you’ll look a little silly having thrown your toys out of the pram and slaughtered the world’s greatest manager for leading us to an away draw

2 points which will cost us and already has, which also has undone all the hard work in winning those games late. You carry on happy clapping.
Jesus Christ, I can’t put it any more simply than I did.

Losing 2 points does not undo all the hard work that earned us 4 additional points.

I suggest you buy yourself a fucking calculator mate, it’ll make things easier for you.

I think today’s result means Bournemouth and Fulham have nothing to play for more so that might help us. Not that I’m happy about that right not sitting on the tube for the 10th time today!!!! 3 cup finals 3 losses for me. Apologies to everyone. I won’t be going again
Jeez man, same record as my ex. She came to Wigan in 2013 then her next one was the rags debacle last year. We said to her if we’re lucky enough to get tickets you can come this year but we’ll be enforcing a three strikes and you’re out policy if the worst happens.

Hard to believe that in the last 5 league games we’re top of the form!

I still have faith but the embers are dying.
Come on city!

There are actually scenarios where either of them can get into Conference League via 8th place. It starts with Chelsea winning their UCoL final (along with Top 5) and Newcastle’s Carabao Cup UCoL spot dropping down if they finish Top 6

If only we'd got those 3 points at St Mary's, a win on tuesday would (I think) have guaranteed us CL football next season, irrespective of what happens at Craven Cottage (or anywhere else) next weekend.

Yes, I know. "auntie", "balls" and "uncle".
A win at Southampton would have meant a win on Tuesday guaranteed 3rd.

A win tomorrow takes us to 3rd. A draw at Fulham would be enough for 5th, could be enough for 3rd too if Newcastle or chelsea don't win their last games by 2-4 goals more than us. A draw tomorrow also takes us 3rd, but would need a win in the last game to secure it. Two draws or one win may be enough, but then depends on others.
