I am sure even the most staunch chelsea fan will disagree with that. They have not been ridiculously good. They have been underachievers this season.

and your real transition will come when Bale leaves you for the swamp.

Overall yes, but they've found their form in the final part of the season.

Bale won't leave this summer, there's a very small chance of it happening and more likely that he signs an extension. Also if he does leave it will only be to Real Madrid, there's 0 chance of him going to another Premier league club.

Anyway my point was that we haven't bottled it like we used to do when Redknapp was manager, we've actually been on a pretty good run of form.

Last year Levy had to sell Modric and let VDV go. Its really down to the owners motivation, which isn't dissimilar to the goners. If Bale goes, which is in the balance if you don't get in the top 4, it will still be for around £40 million. I would expect that to be AVB's transfer budget. I reckon he will make very, very good use of that money. You have a very good coach, Bale, or no Bale, you will over take the goners next year.

Believe me it would take a lot more than that. Levy values Bale for more than his "raw worth" I'll call it (in other words what a player of his exact talent would be worth), because of his age and marketability. We sold Modric for 32 million, and he was several years older and no where near the "superstar" that Bale is.

Anyway 4th or not, we won't sell him and he won't ask to leave, I'm very confident of that. I do think that with smart summer transfer activity we can add another 10 points to our total next season which should see us 4th.

Brilliant work there Cas (wherever you nicked it off!). Best of luck for tonight.

Speaking of bale apparently he's been offered a contract extension that he can sign right now and has said he wants to stay another year. I'm still of the mindset that when spurs miss out on 4th which they will that he'll be sold in the summer as Madrid will come swooping in and promise him the world since they missed out on neymar

Do you Spuds wish you had taken the Europa more seriously over the years now? I really enjoyed the competition. Our team didn't really take it seriously until the final and we just somehow coasted through, but it was a lot better than I expected it to be.

We certainly took this season's competition seriously - we went out in the Quarter Finals on a penalty shoot-out.

But I do agree that under Harry, we could have given the competition far more respect than was shown.

I meant previously. AVB did take it seriously to his credit. If Spurs had actually tried in this competition since you've been qualifying, you might have won it a few times.
