You have to admire his work ethic at putting stuff like that together, if indeed its all his own work. Imagine what he would achieve if he put his efforts into something worthwhile!

Do you honestly think anyone else would be daft enough to put a match history like that together?

It's something I do for every game Spurs play.
is it very quiet in the bit of Israel where you live?

Exceptionally quite - I live in an area of Israel which has a large Arab majority.

AVB on Crystal Palace

Andre Villas-Boas has been counting down the days to our opener at Palace since pre-season began six weeks ago.

Now it’s here, the Head Coach insists: “It’s good for us to start again!”

“It’s back to work,” said Andre. “When you are in pre-season you always want the time to go by quickly and you think of this first game.”

Andre was in a positive mood after Friday’s training session.

“It’s been an international week, so we haven’t had a great deal of time to work with the players and today (Friday) was the first time we had everyone joining in with training,” he said.

“It was a good day’s training after international week. Fitness-wise, we look sharp. On that front, pre-season has served us well.”

Andre expects Selhurst Park to provide an atmosphere of ‘emotion and intensity’ on Sunday. We kick-off at 1.30pm.

“It’s a tough game and difficult to play against a team that has just come up,” he said.

“We have to be disciplined and hopefully the quality of the players we have will make the difference and we will come back with three points.”

Predicted line-up:

Lloris

Walker - Dawson - Kaboul - Rose

Capoue - Sandro

Lennon - Paulinho - Chadli

Soldado

Our last Premier League game at Selhurst Park, 22nd January 2005, Crystal Palace 3-0 Tottenham Hotspur...

Robinson

Pamarot - Naybet - King - Edman

Marney - Mendes - Carrick - Zeigler

Keane - Defoe

Sorry, pretty sure this is incorrect. Spurs never lost a game when the mythical legend that was Ledley King was playing.

Yes, Spurs are far from done in this transfer window.

Franco Baldini is using his AS Roma connections for Osvaldo.

Not a very good negotiator then is he.....

Saints can't even offer him Europa League and he still didn't want to come to you...

Well I had to go back 10 pages, but I finally found what I actually wrote...

Yes, Spurs are far from done in this transfer window.

Etienne Capoue is still very much on, Franco Baldini is using his AS Roma connections for Lamela & Osvaldo, we're after a couple of lads from Ajax and Alen Halilovic from Dinamo Zagreb stands a decent chance of coming-off.

...quite obviously, not all those deals I mentioned are going to come-off.

But one already has (Capoue) and I wouldn't be at all surprised if another player or two signs for Spurs by the end of the transfer window.

All those meaty midfielders make your lot look like an NFL team!

Indeed - quite a change from the Spurs of just a few years ago, who were invariably bullied off the ball.

A few years ago you had qualified for the champions league with the likes of Van Der Vaart and Modric, now your going to be watching spurs on ITV4 with the most uncreative midfield Spurs have had when Bale decides to pack his bag

We were actually discussing the physical qualities of Tottenham's midfield.

But thank you so much for your valuable insight.

whilst not the most eloquent way of putting it, he's very very right...Spurs have next to no creativity in the midfield, you need a classic number 10 to play in the hole and play the cheeky through balls.

Your side looked lost without Bale today, the fact he doesn't go watch Spurs friendlies/games but goes and watches the Welsh national team tells you all you need to know about where he's heading, he'll be limping to Madrid.

Kaboul was out for almost the entire 2012-13 season (he only played in the opening match away at Newcastle), while Sandro missed the second half of the season.

So it's not like getting two players back from injury, as Spurs have never fielded their strongest team.

Kaboul is in your strongest team?! I'm quaking.

Absolutely.

Our first choice central defenders are Kaboul & Vertonghen.

hmmm

#Spurs Team vs #CPFC : Lloris; Walker, Dawson, Vertonghen, Rose; Lennon, Dembele, Chadli, Sigurdsson, Paulinho; Soldado

Kaboul is coming back from injury - he only played 45 minutes in all our pre-season matches.

AVB gave him a run-out at the end of the Palace game.

Sigurdsson and Chadli? I also like Andros Townsend. Don't really know why they bought Chadli because Tpwnsend was for me ready to step into their team.

I wouldn't be too critical of Spurs. TI dodn't think they played that great, but it's the opening day of the season, and they won. We've got to play yet, and I reckon we might get beat. Newcastle are due something against us

Doesn't alter the fact that the player I mentioned from YOUR post, joined a team that cannot even offer Europa League football, above spuds.

Oh, and that other player we talked a while back, signed that extended deal at his current club (Atletico Madrid?) sorry, couldn't remember the name.

I strongly suspect that he went to Southampton because either Spurs weren't interested in signing him or a deal couldn't be reached to everyone's benefit.

If tonight's rumours prove true, it seems like we're in for Willian instead.

Oh... and only posting selective parts of a quote is a cad's trick.

The creativity point is valid. I think they'll struggle against many teams in the league who will pack 10 behind the ball and launch long balls on the counter. At least, I can't see their plan for dealing with this. Modric and VDV were never really replaced and while the midfield they have now is good on paper, it looks all power no finesse.

How did they perform against Palace? I heard Palace were dire but Spurs only won by a penalty?
