Give over ffs.

Good but not a patch on ours/Chelsea or even the rags for that matter.

That question mark just makes the point I was making earlier even more apparent. They are short on centre-half options, it's an area they need to address before the window closes. Take City, as an example, Nastasic is injured, Kompany just picked up and injury too. I think our centre half options need addressing, yet we've still got Lescott, Richards, Garcia and, at a push, Boyata as options. Lets just say both Kaboul and Vertonghen get injured for Spurs, who are their options? Dawson, Capoue can play there but he's more of a midfielder, then you're down to u21 squad players.

It's not even the 3rd best.

In typical Tottingham Hotspurs fashion they'll miss out on Lamela, Coentrao, Willian and the mythical centre back and sign Tom Ince and bring back Gallas but if they did get that lot in my honest opinion that squad would be title challengers(not saying they would walk it as injuries, dodgy ref decisions, players having the season of their lives.) but on paper it's just as good as the big 3.

Spurs lose Bale, they won't be as good. It's that simple.
You'll never get back like for like when you sell your best player but spurs look to be doing a nice job of getting the right players in. I'll say this I like their squad a lot better than United's or arsenals if they get those players in. Not to mention AVB is quite a good manager

Willian gives the thumbs up sign arriving at the Inercontinental London Park Lane Hotel ahead of his Spurs medical

Bale is gone Pepe is on his way to us!!"

I've been saying this for the entire window. Spurs will be better if they spend the £80m or so for Bale on 4 or 5 top quality players, completely revamp their entire side for the lose of just one (albeit world class) player. THFC6061 will have us believe all this spending is affordable and they'll be able to keep Bale too, but anyone with an ounce of common sense can see that you don't break your transfer record 3 times in one window (and by a huge amount) without needing to fund that from somewhere. I would be astounded, absolutely astounded, if Bale wasn't a Real Madrid player by the time the transfer window closes.

I think if Spurs are around the top come February/ March they have every chance of winning the league.

They look a more balanced team now.

Well if Spurs somehow keep hold of Bale on top of these quality signings, then they could be a
major threat to win the title let alone make the top four. Lamela and Willian will give them a
formidable attacking look.

Just been listening to a spurs fan on talksport. Where do they get them from ? According to this visionary, City played well last night but he isn't convinced by us or by Pellegrini, and although they might not win the league, they have a good chance. He went on to say they will displace the rags from the top 3.

I know Newcastle was poor, but the 4-0 flattered them. Spurs played Palace and only won because they were awarded the same kind of penalty decision we were turned down for last night.
What exactly has he seen in one week of football that makes him think they're so fucking good.
Spurs performance against Palace was insipid at best.

I hope they come crashing down to earth with a huge fucking bump.

They're spending the Bale money before he goes.

They're really not close to us. How many players do we have that you can genuinely say are one of the best in the world in their position? And how many do Spurs have that you can say the same about? Spur have got good players all over the pitch, but they've only got one genuinely world class player, and he's probably going to leave. We've got at least 5 genuinely world class players from where I'm sitting, and the vast majority of the rest of our squad would be starting every week for them.

Spending all this money to gain Champions League qualification. I thought it was just City that do that

quite clearly different as they're just putting back in to the team what they're getting out of it with the Bale sale.

As the Spuds fans are always harping on about FFP what happens with all this outlay and they dont qualify for the CL?

Tottenham Hotspur ended the Summer 2012 transfer window with a surplus of £14,603,000 from player trading...

...the purchase of Zeki Fryers and Lewis Holtby in January 2013 cost us £4,500,000, which gave us a surplus of £10,103,000 going into the Summer 2013 window...

A4949_zpse5a14096.jpg

...The net spend so far this summer has been £34,850,000, less the previous balance of £10,103,000 and the £3,000,000 received from the Dos Santos sell-on clause.

So I make that a grand total spent on transfers of £21,747,000.

We still have a few players who might be moved-on for decent money (Assou-Ekotto, Adebayor and Gomes to name just three), but in the meantime, Spurs have four new players who will certainly feature in first team squads (Soldado, Capoue, Paulinho and Chadli) for an average outlay of around £5,500,000 each.

Nothing as they are selling Bale. They are pre spending the bale money now. Nothing more.

We all know that when it comes to spurs transfers, your statistics and charts are about as reliable as an Austin Allegro.
