On spurscommunity we have a "what the opposition is saying thread" where someone will have a look at forums of other fans and post their candid opinions. Anyway, i saw this post:


To be fair, there's one Spurs fan there in particular - THFC6061 - who seems to have caused a bit of a ruckus.I hope he's not a poster on here because I have to say that, if I was a City fan on that board, I'd want to thump him.Maybe it's just me, but I think there's a wrong and a right way to post as a visiting fan on another club's forum. Certainly, I wouldn't report repeatedly on Spurs youth team results or post charts and stats to show how wonderful we are. Why would City fans be remotely interested in any of that?Nor would I be precious about criticism of Spurs and feel that I had to defend the club against their accusations. It's their board. Let them say what they want about us. Nothing I could say would likely change their minds anyway. Best way to deal with it is with self deprecating humour. That might earn a little respect and allow you the luxury, every once in a while, to defend Spurs against a particularly inaccurate accusation without being treated as a tedious, one eyed prick.It's kind of like British tourists abroad. So many of them just give the country a bad name while on their travels.

Just so you know, the feeling is mutual.

I seriously doubt someone with nearly a 1000 posts and a member of spurscommunity for 7 years would be a City fan in disguise. He isn't the only one btw. It seems you're not very popular.

Amazing claims in El Pais: Bale to Real Madrid is NOT done, Levy rejected €100m latest offer

One of the most respected business newspapers in Spain has come out with a sensational claim on Sunday surrounding the long-running transfer sage that is Gareth Bale’s transfer from Spurs to Real Madrid.

Forget what you have read all summer in Marca and AS as well as the English papers – Gareth Bale’s transfer to Real Madrid is NOT done, according to Diego Torres in El Pais.

The big star of the show, according to Torres and for Spurs fans is Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy – nicknamed “The Kamikaze” in this piece.

It claims Real Madrid agreed a civil agreement with Gareth Bale and his advisers in mid-July: If the Welsh forward is not playing for the Spanish giants by the 3rd of September, 2013, they will need to pay the player 20 million euros.

Real Madrid have denied such an agreement but Levy believes it to be true and the article does claim that the Spurs chairman and Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett are a lot closer than the media would have you believe.

Last Tuesday, according to El Pais, Levy rejected a “take it or leave it final” 100 million euro offer for Bale from Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.

The Tottenham chairman believes he hold all the cards and is happy to give Gareth Bale the time off, should he stay at White Hart Lane, believing the player’s value will remain if he leaves next summer.
