It wasn't yesterday, it was embarrassingly poor yesterday. West Ham did set up perfectly though and AVB should have corrected the problem by moving Townsend to the left to provide width down that side, and
bringing Sigurdsson off for Lamela to go on the right. We probably could have done with Sandro coming on for Eriksen as well.
Thankfully Rose will be back after the international break which should go some way toward correcting our width problems. I must say I kind of wish now that we would just ditch this high line, possession based style of football. I think it just makes it too easy for the other team to nullify our attack and gives our players no space in which to play. It's getting tiresome watching us try to break down a deep defense week after week, we should just play a lower block which will invite more pressure onto ourselves but make us more defensively solid and give our attacking players space to play into. It's been a while since we've looked like scoring on the break, mainly because we don't try to.
