Re: Dirty Harry

Exactly what I thought when saw the line ups, there were no bans were there for Sunday's game?

Oh and stop being so fucking boring bob.

On Friday, they said Bale was injured. This had morphed into Bale was ill by the time we got to Sunday.

Barnes on ESPN; Defoe is the best striker in the league? Ha Ha Ha

I don't know about the best in the League (my nod would go to van Persie) but Defoe has certainly been on fire for us this season...

...with a vital goal contribution on average for every 79 minutes he's been on the pitch for.

I'd also say he's the best natural finisher England has.

two up top against scum, one up top against the mighty stevenage - has to be england's next manager

Well 1 striker and 1 statue up front v Utd. No idea why he chose Saha over Defoe for that game as Utd dont like players who run at them.
Also see VdV and Bale quickly became fit for last night after missing Utd.
But yep, hope both Arsenal and 1 other finish above Spurs.
As for Barnes saying he is the best in the league (probably why he's been a total failure as manager everywhere he has managed), then why is he 3rd choice as Spurs?

Do you have one of those tables that shows how you're spineless and shite against any half decent team?

As for Defoe, he's awesome, took that chance well at the death to beat City in Jan....,

Don't remind me of that. It makes me shudder just thinking about it.

I still can't get over the fact it stopped our title ambitions

WTF has gotten into people when it comes to Spurs?

It goes like this...

1. 'Arry makes himself available at every opportunity for 'comment'
2. Tells media that they have no chance of winning the League as the teams at the top are too good and they can't compete with them financially.
3. The press, as one, smile sympathetically and dab the forming tear from the corner of their eye. They also queue up to tickle him under his chin, akin to a newborn puppy.
4. Spurs then go on a run against 15 or so of the 'also rans' in the Premier League, putting them within striking distance of the top.
5. 'Arry comes out fighting, saying that they can now win the League and are a match for anyone.
6. The media, in return for 'Arry's regular availability, return the favour by bumming up Van Der Vaart, Adebayor and Modric (where was he against us, Arsenal and the Buccanneers?)
7. Several ex-players and managers follow the media's lead (no cash involved) by stating that Spurs are the English Barca, despite conceding more than and scoring less than City.
8. In the next few games against better opposition, Spurs lose and suddenly all goes quiet.
9. Repeat cycle.

Have you seen the film 'Manchurian Candidate'. Used by Redknapp as his mantra allegedly.

Defoe a natural finisher? Don't make me laugh. He's a head over the ball and hit it as hard as he can type of striker.

Well put. This just about sums 'Arry up, I remember his comments about not being able to compete and the media blubfest that followed, then when they go on a bit of a run, proclaiming that Spurs are the new Barca. That now looks like the bullshit it was, with what appeared to me to be the typical Spurs dodgy defence.

Dawson out of the season.

Spurs to finish 5th anyone?

Next two games:
Spurs
Everton (A)
Chelsea (A)

Arsenal
Newcastle (H)
Everton (A)

Chelsea
Stoke (H)
City (A)

Current Table
3rd Spurs 53
4th Arsenal 49
5th Chelsea 46

By my reckoning, this should see Arsenal close the gap to at least 1 point, if not go above Spurs and can only see them getting possibly 1 point from those games.

Then, when the pressure is on, we will see how tactically astute 'arry is.

If Gallas comes back to fitness then we'll three centre backs that are better than Dawson, I doubt this will have too much of an impact on our league positioning. It is desperately unlucky for the lad though, feel for him, having to spend so much time on the sidelines.
