Not to mention at double and treble the prices for good measure.

This is one inherent advantage that you have over any club in the country outside North and West London.

Indeed, but the benefits are offset somewhat by the 'London prices' we have to pay for land and construction.

Building a 500 mill stadium in North London would probably cost no more than 300-350 in the North East.

-- Tue Jan 31, 2012 6:41 pm --

why post this here?
you think any of us give a fuck?[/

Oh sorry for posting SPURS related material on the SPURS thread..idiot. If you actually read the post I said it to inform my fellow Yids on here about it...I don't go on the spurs forums as they all talk sh*t on them. The spurs fans seem decent on here so that's why.

Fuck.Right.Off

This is OTT, don't get me wrong I quite like the spuds in here and most seem reasonable but, and it's as big a but as Thugglestones ...

It's one thing discussing Spuds on here but josh's post is on the way to creating a Spud's subforum for Spud-u-like's who are disenchanted with their own forums. The Spurs thread here has to be predominately about how they matter to us not the internal niceties that have no relevance to MCFC. What next, discussions on their U-15's management set up, Bale's visit to sign teddybears at the local kiddies hospital?

Stick around Spuddies but keep it relevant to us, eh?

If this thread was on the main forum I could understand the necessity to keep it City centric but this is General Football and it appears that a City context is optional in most of the threads.

The difference in cost wouldn't be that pronounced. I reckon 20% tops which is 100 mill on the build cost.

Those extra 20,000 seats at, say, 60 quid a go would add up to 30 mill a season in incremental ticket sales based on 25 games per season.

I reckon your overall matchday revenue could go up by 40 mill which provides a decent return on 500 mill as it happens and that is before all the attendant benefits that go hand in hand with being a bigger club than you presently are.

I know we got our stadium from the council but our club is now repaying that ten fold with all teh extra infra structure and jobs they are bringing into the local area

I signed it!

Nice distinction. I take it you convinced yourself beyond all doubt that the new stadium and its surrounding infrastructure wouldn't bring similar benefits for one of the most deprived areas in London before you signed the petition?

I'm not arguing that it has to be City-centric but that the minutiae of the Spuds netherworld is of no interest even in a general football forum. If you want to keep in touch with your fellow spuddies join Facefuck or swap email addies, we have issues with bandwith as it is.

Are you seriously suggesting that this is the appropriate recruiting ground for a Spuds youth team initiative?

In the short term yes. Saha will be a better fit for our system than Pav ever was and Nelsen will probably be fith choice centre back so may not even play.

Obviously Levy has made money out of the bargain and he's going to need it because we will have to invest quite heavily in the summer on at least two quality strikers whether we qualify for the Champs League or not.

its on facebook now

basically saying that while their manager is up in court for alleged tax fraud, the club are about to get £27m of tax payers money to fund their new stadium while at the same time a local hospital is about to be closed...

I know we got our stadium from the council but our club is now repaying that ten fold with all teh extra infra structure and jobs they are bringing into the local area

I signed it!

Not one penny of that £27 million will be spent on Tottenham's new stadium.

The money will go towards transport and infrastructure improvements to the local area which were the responsibility of the relevant authorities and which Tottenham were expected to foot the bill for.
