Re: if Mourinho goes to Spurs in the summer...

Mourinho can only come to England in the summer for the following:

If Real Madrid beat Arsenal in the CL at the Emirates and Mourinho runs on the pitch/touchline celebrating, he's going to either Chelsea or Spurs.

If Real Madrid beat Chelsea in the CL at Stamford Bridge and Mourinho runs on the pitch/touchline celebrating, he's going to either Arsenal or Spurs.

reason?

2003/04 Porto beat Man Utd and Mourinho runs up the touchline to celebrate. In the summer he moves to United's league rivals, Chelsea.

2009/10 Inter Milan beat Barcelona in the Nou Camp and Mourinho runs on the pitch celebrating at full time. In the summer he moves to bitter rivals Real Madrid.

So as he can't run up the touchline at either Manchester clubs this season, he's definately not coming to either us or United.

Re: if Mourinho goes to Spurs in the summer...

Problem is RM would twat Arsenal or Chelsea and it would feel awkward doing an insane touchline sprint celebration.

Re: if Mourinho goes to Spurs in the summer...

If his reign at Real Madrid comes to an end this season, where can he go?

Owe Trafford - doubtful unless Ferguson dies
Home of football - Mancini wins PL then it's a no.
Chelski - AVB will get another year I think
Emirates - Possibly
Liverpool - Possibly
Tottingham - Triffic Harry leaves, then that's the only option available to Moanrinho.

not sure, when the 7th goes in I'm not sure Jose would be able to stop himself running across to Roman's box and flicking the V's. Would be funny if he went back again and beat you like he did with Inter, that Sneijder pass to Eto'o was world class.

The scary thing is, he beat us with Inter when we were good. I dread to think what he'd do to us now.

I think his relationship with Roman is pretty good now by the way. Roman bought him a custom made Ferrari for his birthday a few years ago. Not to say that their working relationship is in any way repaired but I doubt there are grudges. But I'm sure Jose would enjoy putting his old "apprentice" in his place.

Indeed.

If Roman would leave him alone, and accept all the mistakes he made, Jose could do a brilliant job there.

back to square 1, wad of cash, and Jose would make it work imo.

If Harry ends up with the England Job , I think Spurs will pull out all stops to get the current Swansea manager.

You heard it hear first.

Can't see it. What experience has he got at the highest level? He was sacked from Watford not long back after a brief period AND a lot of the credit for Swansea should go to Roberto Martinez. Owen Coyle was bigged up last season and where is he now? Fighting relegation with Bolton. Hodgson was promoted to Liverpool on the back of Fulhams Europa campaign and flopped.

Some Spurs fans have been sporadically calling for Redknapp's head, after all he's done for them.

We wanted him and he had a good grooming under Jose.

Seriously what had Harry done at the highest level bar an F A Cup with the best run you could wish for in 30 years of management FFS.

One decent season with West Ham AND SENT Portsmouth to oblivion.

He is a perfect fit for them , Swansea play the best football in the premiership ( Just ask Mancini (LOL) ).

When was the last time Spurs has a real high profile manager with sustained success at the highest level in top leagues throughout Europe of England.

Pardew got the flick from Southampton and the way things are at present its not inconceivable that they will finish fourth and I don't rate him that highly tbh.

Brendan Rogers is a damn good manager. I would be happy with him if Roberto ever leaves mainly because he would fit into our current philosophy.

Paul Lambert isn't bad either, maybe not quite as good. He is more of a tactician though.

Got Spurs to the QF of the Champions League.

Remind me has Mancini ever got past the Quarter Finals in the Champions League?

Have you watched Real Madrid this season? Played fantastic football AND have scored more goals than Barcelona.

Mancini already in 18 months has an identical trophy cabinet domestically in England as Harry the wheeler dealer has in 30 odd years of management.

I am not saying that Mancini will lead us to the promised land year upon year and I hope our next manager improves upon what he sets up and I am not saying Harry doesn't have his strengths either but give me a break , Mancini is the best manager we have had at this club since our return to the premiership and by some way.

Seriously "in the know" I can see you leading the Harry for City brigade next season and good to you.

Rodgers will do more for Spurs with the same squad than Harry would anyday of the week.

Total rubbish. How can u possibly know that? What has Rodgers achieved? Most of the credit for Swansea should go to Martinez & Sousa.

Could Mancini win the FA Cup with Portsmouth? Mancini has had more money to spend on players than Redknapp ever has.

Mate, he won the Coppa Itallia with 2 almost bankrupt clubs in Lazio and Fiorentina.

Certainly more impressive than almost bankrupting a club in order to win the FA cup.

Re: if Mourinho goes to Spurs in the summer...

Mourinho will stay at Real next season. IF they win La Liga this season its huge they are up against 1 of the greatest teams of all time and Mourinho in winning the league will be given a new contract to stay on at Madrid. I think he will stay at Madrid until he wins the Champions League or if a Big Club in England get rid of there manager. Arsenal , Chelsea , City or Rags will be his 4 jobs he will be looking at.

He wont go to Spurs think IF he does leave expect Wenger to move over and Arsenal will back Jose in the transfer window. Arsenal under Wenger has saved huge amounts of money and Mourinho will get a huge transfer kitty there. Could well be a job swap Mourinho to Arsenal and Wenger to Real.

As for Spurs new manager Moyes if they can get him off Everton. If not Benitez or my wildcards Chris Houghton or Klinsmann. Houghton has done a great job in football management getting Newcastle up and doing well at Birmingham at the moment could well be a cheap option for them.

that would be absolutely terrible news for us.

Why terrible/? sour Alex is the prems best ever manager and hes playing catchup..albeit 2 points but still catchup..

Yep, am with you on this. What an exciting league we'd have. Bring it on I say!

There is more chance of him going to spurs than there is him going to Arsenal. talk about transfer budgets all you like, spurs are maybe 2 world class signings away from winning the premier league. Arsenal are 7 or 8.

He wants out of Spain, and i doubt spurs would be his first choice english club, but if its the only vacancy and its a choice between that or staying at Madrid where a lot of the fans and media have turned on him, i think it could happen.

Actually Liverpool did. Once one of us fell it opened the door for somebody else to move in. With the rise of City, Arsenal appears to be stumbling as well but that might be because you bought all their players :P.

Scoucers let team Sky 4 down, the bastards.

Jose would love to go to Arsenal and put his mark on that club. They have the biggest fan base in London a top class youth set up and they have some brilliant young talented players. If he could get in at Arsenal bring in as you say 2 or 3 World Class signings then Arsenal are close to winning the league as well. Look at how well Arsenal have done with a poor squad over the last couple of years they always get champions league and I wouldnt put it by Wenger to get them Champions league again. Will the Spurs owner give him full control of the club im not too sure. While at Arsenal he will be given the Wenger treatment and let to get on with his job.

Re: if Mourinho goes to Spurs in the summer...

I reckon a fair few of those players are made for the Mourinho system. He could big things with that squad but tbh we shouldn't worry because if we win the league we only need to slightly tinker with our squad for us to be on a completely different level again next season. We are gelling and coming together very well, but as we have a small squad I think fatigue is holding us back a bit. Silva especially has had to carry a huge load. Hopefully Nasri will be settled in next year and can rotate with him a bit more.

Re: if Mourinho goes to Spurs in the summer...

So, just to be clear...

Spuds are going to pay Real's compensation figure of £20m, Jose's £10m a year salary, an additional £5m a year for his backroom team and give him a huge transfer budget?

And all before any guarantee of Champions League football next season and finding £300m for a new stadium.

Wow, have they been taken over by the Abu Dhabi royal family!

They can't even find the money to pay Adebayor his weekly wage, never mind the £10m transfer fee.

p.s - And also comply with FFPR, with a new stadium at least four years away?

I agree with your thinking entirely but a stadium project wouldn't count towards FFPR for them. There is a significant clause in there about the construction of tangible fixed assets not counting towards losses. UEFA doesn't really care about actual losses, youth spending isn't counted either. There are a lot of funny rules in the document but Spurs could build their new stadium without it affecting their transfer business according to the rules (whether they have the money to do both is another question.)
