I am on the ValueGold card as I live 230 miles from the ground so transport alone is very costly to the game. Once this deal expires I have no doubt I will be able to pick up a season card very easily once the capacity is increased so holding onto my £100 at the minute

They are moving further and further away from the fans at an alarming rate.

Or maybe the club are just trying to guarantee that they will sell most of the extra season tickets before expanding the ground.

So asking for £100 per person to go on a waiting list for almost 2 years in the build up to Christmas is the only way they could go about it?

So add to this the displaced from Level Two, and assuming they don't just have a huff and flounce off into the sunset, that will be South Stand extension full. 61000 here we come

Presuming they can fill level 2.

Was talking about capacity rather than attendance, I personally have my doubts about the corporatisation of the padded seats in Level 2, especially when they were talking about the exclusive area around the tunnel and the dugouts as well last year. Remember the corporate facilities and the glass walls so you could see the players all lining up to go on the pitch, suggested prices were astronomical.

-- Sat Nov 16, 2013 6:43 pm --

There's no closing date to the waiting list is there? So sign up when it suits you, you"ll just be further down the list but can't imagine you won't get a ticket. A £100 is a bit steep but I guess they need some commitment from us before they spend £50M to build it.

Spot on. People also have the option of paying in 4 instalments.

I guess I'm one of those. Just not going to pay £200 for my two kids when I'm not even sure I'll carry on with a ST.

Of course after spending well over £900 so far this year, and many thousands over the 11 years I've had a season ticket I'm not expecting something for nothing.

But I'm not going to pay something for nothing either, no matter how I love the club.

£100 which u can choose to pay upfront or £25 a month for 4 months.

Fucking outrageous.

You do realise it comes off the cost of your ticket don't you?

I do but that's not my point. I don't want it for free like the mouthy **** above suggests but we're talking 2 years away. Surely the club could ask for a smaller monthly instalment so that by the time the start of that season comes along, the entire season ticket is paid off.

£100 is a lot of money to stump up for something that people may not be in the position to afford come the time the season starts.

It's a deposit and you an pay it in 4 instalments of £25.

Yes it's up front, but it's to gauge if the interest is real.

The tickets are from £299, anyone would think they were £1299 by that reaction

They need to get an idea of numbers well in advance to know what option to go for. Plus, the £100 can be paid over 4 months.

Stop being so fucking negative.

Imagine getting one of the new season ticket Christmas boxes on Christmas Day. :-)

Knowing you've got to wait for 2 years before you can use your present. :-(

Don't tell me what to think dickhead. I've got an opinion about how football fans are treated these days and am entitled to voice it here.

Exactly. Some people seem to think 'Rich Owner - everything free'. However, FFP stuffed that idea. The club has to make money - and if youre not prepared to commit then so be it. Great Xmas prissy......get a few friends and family to club together for you!!

Fair enough. You have just picked a poor example to get your point across. The cost of expanding the ground is around £50 million as others have said and the club need a contribution from the Blues.

Where exactly did I say I expected anything to be free because we have a rich owner?

I believe football fans are fleeced to fuck and just because we're one of the clubs who aren't as bad, doesn't mean that everything is perfect.

Perhaps every season ticket holder should pay £100 of their 2015 ticket now, just to contribute.

The club are not expanding out of the goodness of their heart, they are doing it to make money. I'll make my contribution when I get something in return, and thats not a promise of a seat in two years time.
