The war of Johnson's Ego

It justifies the spending on new nuclear subs and weapons of mass destruction, the ultimate vanity weapon of the needy insecure boy who didn't have Lego when he was a kid.

You don't see Lego at Eton, I know i have been there and I didn't see any.

You should have looked a bit harder. Legoland is only 3 miles from Eton.

Haha. Why have a box set eh?

Talking of which do they sell normal Lego still, you know when we was like kids and you had to use your imagination? Rather than these sets that you have to follow an encyclopaedia of instructions only to find you lost a piece and you’re fucked

I'll take the bet.

I think it's bigger than you think.

Black Sea fleet consists of 5 guided missile frigates, 3 of which are the most modern built in last 5 years. And 1 guided missile cruiser that is of 1980s vintage albeit with modern weaponry. 8 subs, majority pretty modern. 9 corvettes of which 6 are guided missile versions and 3 sub hunters, 3 are modern, 1 20 years old and the rest 1980s vintage. The rest of the Black Sea fleet would be of limited value in an open sea confrontation, the half dozen small missile boats they have could be a nuisance I suppose.

In open sea that doesn’t look like much of a match for one of our carrier groups that packs a much bigger punch along with counter measure equipment to render much of their offensive capability ineffective.

Would a carrier fleet be able or likely to sail through the Bosphorus?

If the Black Sea fleet remains in the Black Sea it pretty much ineffective anyway.

There wouldn’t be a need to go chasing it, just let it stay in port and the carrier group has done its job.

Not quite true. The fleet is effective at dominating the Black Sea and restricting access to waters around Crimea and the sea of Azov. As they have proven in incidents where they have arrested Ukrainian merchant vessels.
