The war of Johnson's Ego

If the Black Sea fleet remains in the Black Sea it pretty much ineffective anyway.

There wouldn’t be a need to go chasing it, just let it stay in port and the carrier group has done its job.
And that helps Ukraine how?

Black Sea fleet consists of 5 guided missile frigates, 3 of which are the most modern built in last 5 years. And 1 guided missile cruiser that is of 1980s vintage albeit with modern weaponry. 8 subs, majority pretty modern. 9 corvettes of which 6 are guided missile versions and 3 sub hunters, 3 are modern, 1 20 years old and the rest 1980s vintage. The rest of the Black Sea fleet would be of limited value in an open sea confrontation, the half dozen small missile boats they have could be a nuisance I suppose.

In open sea that doesn’t look like much of a match for one of our carrier groups that packs a much bigger punch along with counter measure equipment to render much of their offensive capability ineffective.
Good grief.

No doubt you'll know how many surface/ground to surface missiles Russia has on land in the area.

Why am I thinking "cannon to the right of them, cannon to the left of them"?

I wasn’t aware this had turned into a tripartite conflict and you were asking how we would do against the Black Sea fleet if we were trying to support Ukraine whilst not being able to get our warships through the Turkish gap. Talk about moving goal posts.

If we go back your question you say the Black Sea fleet being a force to be reckoned with. Sure if we were fighting off the coast of Russia it would have a lot more going for it, aircraft support for a starter and would undoubtedly win that battle. If we were fighting off the cost of the UK it would get wiped out in a matter of minutes. But comparing apples with apples and meeting it in the open sea it’s equipment isn’t all that, I suspect their sailors are first rate mind

Since when has the Black Sea fleet consisted of land based assets? Stop moving the goal posts because you’re argument is flawed
Good grief.

Ignore "land-based assets" while taking your ships near land. Is this the Ladybird book of armchair warfare?

Yes, it is physically possible. However, non Black Sea States have restricted access through the Bosphorus strait.

Modern aircraft carriers would exceed the 15,000 tonnage limit.
