I stated back in November that if we were 9 points or below behind them after Liverpool away we will win it.

BTW not being a smartarse but I predicted all the 2012,2013 and 2014 outcomes correctly as regards winners from similar situations to now as some posters I know on here could confirm..........im shit at all other predictions though so don't ask for lottery numbers or anything like that.

Poppycock! This never happened.

Obviously citykev28 is not one of them

Re: The 'We Will Win the Title' Thread

The most important thing for us is to reignite our home form. I think the return of Yaya and arrival of Bony will see to that. It would also be helpful if we were knocked out of the CL and Chelsea went through. The CL is a huge commitment which involves travelling and Mourinho sets up in a way that requires a lot of hardwork and concentration as Chelsea never play too adventurously.

They've got tough games left, albeit at home largely and they will slip up against someone unexpectedly. We've got to win our remaining home games and can maybe only afford one draw away from home - considering we have the Rags, Spuds and Liverpool away that might be tough. Get the gap down to 3-5pts going into the final 5 games and Chelsea may crumble with the pressure and tough final fixtures they have. Especially when the media start to re-iterate how we love to win it on the final day etc. Liverpool in particular will want to give Chelsea a taste of their own medicine from last season and the Rags will be pumped up and give them a game too.

Looking at their final 8 games even and they're tough. Will require a lot of resilience and it's difficult to consistently grind teams down...
Stoke at home
QPR away (derby and relegation fight)
Rags at home
Arsenal away (with Coquelin have some midfield defensive cover - will be pumped with Fabregas returning)
Palace at home - tough to breakdown, possibly in a relegation battle
Liverpool at home - revenge on the cards - Stevie G to win it?!
West Brom away - Pulis = defensive side, hard to beat
Sunderland at home - relegation battle (could Poyet return to deny them the trophy?)

For us? They're all tough from now on, we just have to keep winning!

Re: can we close the gap

If we keep winning we'll close this gap.

Matic is out for 3 matches and he has been 50% of their defense recently.

The bus has looked like it's run out of gas.

They will probably appeal that red. There is an agenda against them you know!

It's the way we win the league. Final stretch and we let our opponents bottle it whilst we ramp up the pressure.

On the balance of play so far we deserve it. Chelsea are just flat track bullies who cower when we come to town.

Re: can we close the gap

Anfield is the biggest game of the season for us. If we win there (which we never do) we could go on a mammoth run and catch them. If we don't then I just can't see it personally.

Re: can we close the gap

We need everyone fit for the rest of the season. Even with Bony we can't afford to lose Aguero and our entire midfield just turns to shit without Yaya.

that late goal of there's the other week robbed us , it would have been 3 points in it today, but yes 'the bus is running out of fuel down at the bridge, i think we'l do it 'just'
