The 'We Will Win the Title' Thread (merged)

Re: can we close the gap

I think we've probably left ourselves a *little* too much to do, maybe a point or two at most. I still want to see us take it to the final day though - No way we should give it to them on a plate.

Gap cut to 5, and if we can win next Sunday it's down to 2

Re: can we close the gap

Premier league is unique. What odds for Chavs not winning at home to Burnley?? They (and we) will drop more points, I just see Chavs dropping a few too many and us sneaking it. Our squad is much deeper than theirs, and their first team is starting to look a little leggy.

Costa will see another ban before this season is out, mark my words.

Stay grounded fellow blues. Wev'e put together a run of 2 decent games. Before that we wern't sure which City was turning up. We now need to trust Pellers to pick the right team week in, week out.

Re: can we close the gap

we finally need a good run with keeping players on the park. Lets see how they handle a few injuries/suspensions and a build up of matches ? Not as good as us I fancy. Which puts into perspective how good our title win was ast year, we had to deal with all of that yet still prevailed.
A few variables going our way and we can take them. We're better, run deeper and Mourinho knows it.

Re: can we close the gap

I believe we can, and will close the gap. They've been looking very, very lucky with their results recently; I can see them dropping loads of points in their run-in.

Have faith and patience, it WILL happen.

I agree that Anfield is the biggest game of the season for us but disagree that it won't happen if we don't win there. Visits to the swamp and spurs will be key matches too but I think Chelsea will drop more points against unfancied opposition. Mourinho just can't help reverting to type and holding on to 1-nil leads, no matter what the quality of the opposition. Confidence is good as we approach crunch time in this title race, so in answer to the queston Will we close the gap I could not answer yes or on, but if the question is Can we close the gap - hell yes!

I know what you mean but we finally have the squad back now. I think that's why we are all feeling more optimistic.

Chelsea are still favourites.

However, we have previous.

I still believe that we can fall further behind, say by not getting all 3 at Anfield, and win it. This is a Yoyo season for everyone. Chelsea have some tough last few games and may be in with a sniff of the CL.

Too much over-reaction goes on. More important is the form of the team and the confidence of the players. We are capable of winning everything. So are Chelsea. Very happy and proud of our club, players and supporters today. That's enough for me. ;)

Re: can we close the gap

Chelsea will definitely drop more points, they were lucky against Everton too. We just need to go on a run now starting with Liverpool away which won't be easy. To answer the question, yes we can close the gap.

Re: can we close the gap

After today's performance (them and us) I am sure we can close the gap. Keep everyone fit and I truly believe our squad is better than theirs.
