if we win every game from here on out we will be on 81 points

91 points actually, which I'd be happy with even if we came second as a result.

I am as Die Hard, we can do it no matter what, as they come but the the truth is, if we don't beat Stoke tonight its over, a draw not good enough. Chelsea will only drop points and get flustered if we are winning and applying pressure to them. The title may not technically be won or lost tonight but for me, if we don't win, its over...!

Chelsea won't win tonight. It's whether we can close the gap with a win or if we do our usual missed opportunity tactic. We have to win tonight because Everton have the perfect tactics to get a result tonight.

What are they? Never having a shot......I will be surprised if Chelsea don't beat Everton. They are very average. We even beat them with Pozo playing upfront for most of the game.

Problem with this comparison to clawing back 8 points on United is that we still had to play them and had better goal difference. We were therefore only ever 5 points behind them in reality as one game was totally in our control. Chelsea are totally in control of their own destiny.

However, you can never say never. If we win our next two games that would increase the pressure. Lose one or draw two and the pressure is on us to qualify for top 4.

Re: The 'We Will Win the Title' Thread

The thing that keeps nagging away at me is that if we drop any points at all, Chelsea can lose 3 times and still win the league. I can't see us dropping no points at all, and I'd be surprised if they lost 4 games from here.

So unless 1 of those two circumstances happens, we've blown it.

Re: The 'We Will Win the Title' Thread

Chelsea won't win 13 fixtures in a row. I can bet my left nut on this.
And i also think that they are due to loose at the very least one game and draw a couple of ones ( maybe three or four times ).
I am adamant that they will likely "offer" us the opportunity to get back only 4 points behind.
Provided we at last start a so long expected winning streak, hopefully beginning tonight, we could put heavy pressure on them
by the time they face Southampton on March 15, then they will have to play Stoke, the rags and pool.
Even if we don't have any margin of error left, we still are in the race, we just have to start racking points and build pressure on them.
We could definitely make them collapse during April, just like Arsenal of a few seasons ago did while still in the run in four competitions.
Keep the faith !

Re: The 'We Will Win the Title' Thread

Tonight will have a massive bearing on where the title goes, no win in five, no win in five at Stoke does not bode well, no win in six and a ten point gap, forget it.

Fear you could be right. Had a feeling after the scrambled draw against Hull- so reminiscent of those two draws against Sunderland- that it might just provide some impetus. If we cannot take the points tonight, however, it's going to be extremely difficult to reel in Chelsea.

Ten points is beginning to stretch credibility, I agree.

7 or 8 is OK as it can easily become 4 or 5.

However, I would not give up all hope until Yaya and Bony are playing. I'd take a draw tonight if it came to it. Nine points is annoying but not impossible.

In the end, a decent performance tonight is the main thing, if only for improving confidence. Second MUST be secured.

The title is unlikely and is only a bonus from now on in.

If you don't have any children then I would suggest you to do so before it is too late :P

Re: The 'We Will Win the Title' Thread

So nearly the perfect start of the comeback

Feeling much more confident tonight tho - much more like our old selves in the second half

Can we play away every week?
