More optimistic after the 2nd half against Stoke and today's performance, but my head says the gap will back to 7 points after next weekend, never look forward to a trip to Anfield.

I Think we'll miss out on the league by 2-4 points unfortunately.

And I'll be blaming the home performances against Stoke, Burnley and Hull !

Always been a glass half full lad !!!!
How about we let the games play out and see what happens.

Of course, but if everyone went by that rule of thumb, there wouldn't be any conversation on here until May 25th !!

It's ok to have an opinion ..... And I hope mines wrong.

It will definitely be wrong next week as Chelsea don't play so it can't be 7 points.

It could be two!

Re: can we close the gap

When we can put out our strongest side we are the best side in the country, unfortunately for us it's fucking scary how infrequently we can get our strongest XI on the pitch! If and it's a huge IF we can keep everyone fit until the end of the season we can do it. If we don't do it then we only have ourselves to blame for dropping stupid points at home, our away form has been excellent all season.

Meant that I hope the 2-4 point end of season gap was wrong more than anything, but I take your point!

Re: The 'We Will Win the Title' Thread

I used to know a guy who had a few nightclubs. Very good at operating them he was too. He always used to get himself into financial trouble though. He'd take on a new project and it would put everything else he'd built at risk - but he'd always somehow come out the other side.

Whenever he took a new challenge on, and he'd get into all sorts of financial shit, people would roll their eyes and scratch their heads and gently mock him for getting himself into another fine mess, but I knew the truth; I'd been closer to him than these bystanders and I'd looked him closely in the eyes: he'd become addicted to the intoxicating feeing of coming back from the brink. He reveled in adversity, because to him, it was a part of the journey, not the actual destination.

I wonder if this group of players has got the same bug. That they can only properly perform when the odds are stacked against them. Winning two titles in that manner has forged their collective psyche to almost crave making things difficult for themselves.

To some blues this state of affairs will be seen as a flaw; but to me it's a hugely endearing strength. It makes following this club even more compelling; no mean feat, it should be said.

It's replete with innate risk, of course, but that's what makes the ride so fucking enjoyable. What an amazing, high-octane few years we've had as City fans.

Let's chase these fuckers down.....

Re: The 'We Will Win the Title' Thread

Getting more and more confident. Chelsea losing Matic for 3 games will be worse than losing Hazard for them imo. Similar to when Dippers lost Henderson last season maybe, although it was later in the season.

Can't help but to think that Milner's freekick goal against Hull was the equivalent to Kolarov's 3-3 against Sunderland 2012 and Nasri's 2-2 goal against Sunderland 2014. Two goals that seemed rather pointless in disappointing draws but proved to be some of the most important goals in our history.

We can do this again, and we will!

Re: The 'We Will Win the Title' Thread

Just goes to show that analyzing who has what fixtures left is fairly pointless. One thing you know about relegation teams is they will bust every bone in their body at this time of the season. Unlike Newcastle who were already on summer vacation today.

Let's take it one game at a time. We have a tough match at Anfield, but Chelsea going to West Ham is equally difficult. THE TITLE RACE IS ON!!!!!

Re: The 'We Will Win the Title' Thread

As I said earlier in the thread; just as we can be nothing special, Chelsea are nothin special so there is every chance they'll drop more points.
