Sadly Chelsea will win the league very comfortably

They put the measure down with signings pre-season Fabregas, Costa, Matic etc and we had yet another disappointing/ disastrous transfer window.

We must now work hard to secure top 4 and hope we have top quality investment in the next transfer windows.

Costa and Fabregas have been very quiet since the new year tbh.

I have faith in them dropping points against at least two of these - United, Arsenal or Liverpool.

They also face Southampton next weekend, not many teams put many goals past them.

Fabregas ran the game against West Ham

Yes but we're in March and he's been generally below par since the new year. He's been well known to drop his performance in the second half of the season, Barca and Arsenal fans could admit to that.

We can win the league. To do so we need to get 8 more points than Chelsea. Realistically this means us getting 30 (ie winning all our games.) We won all the corresponding fixtures last year so there is no reason why we should not do so again. Obviously we would still be relying on Chelsea dropping points in their final 11 games. In their last 11 games which on paper were easier than the next 11, they drew 3 and lost 1. If their form stays the same and we can step up we can do it!

Apologies to those who like to wallow in misery. I imagine such optimism might lead to a sleepless night but you could always visit another thread and criticise Fernando, Pellegrini, Txiki etc etc to cheer yourselves up.

And to make things worse for you miserable bastards NYCFC have taken the lead.

Hart reminds me of Weaver when he was losing the plot
Kompany playing like hes injured
Ya Ya coming back has not helped us
for now DZEKO>BONY

1/4 of the season to go, and so many waving the white flag. I thought city fans were made of sterner stuff, well they used to be.

Love the optimism. Sadly in the cold light of day realism hits home.
it will take either:
(A) Chelsea poor form and awesome City form to win the league OR
(B) A Chelsea mini collapse and an amazing City run to win it.
(C) A Chelsea collapse and damned good City form.

The Chelsea poor form option.
We have 10 games left - win the lot and that's 30 points - a grand total of 88 points -> impressive!
If Chelsea repeat the last 11 form of WWDLWWDWWDW they drop 9 points out of 33 - an additional 24 points a grand total of 87 points. So we win the league. But if we fail to win all 10 it's over.
Can't see us winning all our remaining games though - our form simply isn't good enough..

Chelsea repeat their worst form of the season.
The worst block of 11 League games on the bounce for Chelsea is DWLWWWDLWWD where they dropped 12 points out of 33. Repeat that and they get 21 more points a grand total of 84 points.
That means we can drop 3 points to win it or draw 2 and pray we start putting away the goals big time.

I will leave the Chelsea Collapse to your imagination - We still can't mess up much!

As you can see the margin of error is extremely slim. Still we can all dream.
I think that a City collapse is far more likely though the way we have been playing this season.
Still it's not over till it is over. So there is hope!

Interestingly those who know my gambling skills will realise that I shall be doing my bit by hexing Chelsea this week with a £50 bet to win the title.
But odds of between 7/1 ON and 14/1 ON tell you what the bookies think of our chances. Somewhere between no chance and very slim chance.

I ain't great at this stuff, how much would I win if I put £100 on it?

Looking at the projection models we are in the range of 8% to 10% probability to win it. That's not no chance. Yet!

In Decimal odds terms Chelsea are mainly in the range 1.11 to 1.14. The 1.14 is on SkyBet whcih means if you bet Chelsea to win the league with £100 youd make a profit of £14
