There’s a pretty decent breeze too, definitely no fires allowed……and it went up to 35c

Constant thunder here for the last half hour or so. Bound to happen, after the extreme heat of the last few days.

There was a wildfire on the large grass verges where you come off for the M62 on the M6 yesterday afternoon. Just driving past it, you could feel the intense heat coming from it and heard the firebrands hitting the car as we drove past (can see how easy it is for fires to spread).

Didn’t hear of it catching on any wider on the news or owt so seemingly the Fire Service (four engines there at the time we went past) kept it under control.

Been without power for the last 2 hours here (lightning strike on a transformer, I'm guessing). Haven't been able to see any of the game tonight, so I'm missing the Palmer wankathon on the telly.

I went to Essouira some years ago, the sea breeze helped enormously. It was a lovely town then, not touristy at all.

it's still a lovely town, mate,

alas, yeah, right now the unlikeable summer tourists are here,
but they bring money into the town for 2 or 3 months,
the locals make enough to see themselves through,
so that all the cafes, bars and music venues may stay open for the remaining months to keep us dossers happy.

the good thing about the weather is the women don't wear much either :)
