Basically says Barbara Castle leaked info to newspapers in the early eighties but they were slapped with D notices to cover it up.

Well there must be a record of the D notices being issued and I'd expect the papers concerned to have some documentation.
I fear too much of this is bollox, too much has been covered up, too many files have been "lost", too much time has elapsed and too many involved (on both sides) have died, and the chances of getting the truth are tending towards bugger all.
It's getting to the point where we have to ensure any reports of abuse in the future are fully investigated. Society has made a balls of investigating the past.

So Fiona Woolfe was forced to step down from her position investigating Leon Brittan because of her links to Leon Brittan.

Peter Wanless, chief executive of the NSPCC recently carried out an investigation into the disappearance of Geoffrey Dickens' paedo dossier that was handed to Leon Brittan but fund no wrongdoing. Leon Brittan's cousin Gerald Ronson is vice president of the NSPCC. Following his conviction and jailing for his part in the Guiness share trading scandal in the early nineties he became a 'philanthropist', donating millions to charity, including the NSPCC.

Suspicion is now falling on the intelligence services with allegations that they not only covered up abuse but actually encouraged and facilitated it in order to be able blackmail high profile people. Who's chairman of the Intelligence and Security Committee in parliament? Leon Brittan's cousin Sir Malcolm Rifkind.

I should add of course that Fiona Woolfe only got the gig after Baroness Butler Sloss was moved on for being too close to the people she was meant to be investigating too. Her brother was a minister in the Conservative government at the same time as Leon Brittan.

Perhaps Sepp Blatter needs to step in and clean things up.

When they have completed their investigations do you think they will let us know who these MPs and other establishment people are who are allegedly involved no matter if it was happening in the 60s and 70s?
