Joey Jones really good full back for Wales Wrexham and Liverpool aged 70.

I went to an event in the top tier of the Kippax and Mike Summerbee was meant to be the after dinner speaker but he had to cancel and they brought in Joey as a sub. My group all thought “well this will be crap” but it wasn’t.
He said it was his first time as an after dinner speaker and you wouldn’t have guessed that. He was really good and told a funny story (he told us quite a few) about being sent off on his debut when Tommy Smith told him to “stick on his opponent at a corner”, only Joey thought he said “stick one on his opponent”…… and so he did!

Well, what a stupid and dismissive comment.

He appeared on a groundbreaking TV show that showed a positive depiction of the Black household, that was pretty famous for all the right reasons, and was something MOST people in and around the age of 50-60 would have heard of.

The show was a staple of after school TV on CH4 in the 80s and 90s.

I'm gutted for his loss as he was making a regular comeback over the last few years. I remember him from 'A Different World', 'The Fresh Prince' and was a regular on 'The Resident' TV show on streaming.

RIP Mr Jamal-Warner.

I disagree, I saw the odd bit and thought it was proper shite, just not my cup of tea, mind you like others I’ve never found US comedy funny apart from Taxi, Cheers and Mash, the latter being the best.

That was a very good side, that Liverpool team of the mid-late 70s. In my opinion, better than any of the recent Klopp/Slot sides. Didn't they win the league one season around that era only conceding 14 (?) goals. In a 42 game season.

The Liverpool sides of that era weren't that bad, at least in comparison to now. I hated them, obviously. But mainly because they kept winning the league, dicking us at Maine Road nearly every time they came!
