Rest easy, Maggie. You are a legend.

Dame Maggie was the best Commie I ever saw in “The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie.” It was a cracking picture and it was clear she was a star in the making!

RIP Dowager.

Cracking film to watch without having to concentrate too much, superb cast as well, good watch with a nice bottle of red.
Murder By Death, a 70's film, also great with a bottle or wine. It's a Neil Simon comedy murder mystery and very funny. She starred in it with Peter Sellers, David Niven, James Coco, Peter Falk, Sir Alec Guinness, Elsa Lanchester, Truman Capote, and Eileen Brennan.

In my opinion, she was not only a great actress but quite beautiful.

Loved her in "Prime of Miss Jean Brodie." "My girls!" she'd say, "are la creme de la creme"; she could have been describing herself. She was especially wonderful in one of Alan Bennett's "Talking Heads" tv plays, a one woman play though I can't remember the title.
R.I.P. Maggie Smith, there's only Judi Dench left of that generation of actors now.
