The "which famous person died today" thread

Funnily enough I've been having a binge on Auf Wedersien Pet the last few weeks. Am on the 4th series now.
Great theme tune, but laughable reading the Twitter comments quoted when someone says he / she is "shocked" by the news.... he was 83 for fucks sake

And stunned.

Shocked and stunned.

Maybe not famous in the conventional sense but one of many unsung heroes, and people like Margaret become increasingly important as fewer and fewer are left.

If you've never been to Bletchley Park it's a fascinating place and they do a fantastic job of giving you a sense of what it was like at the time.

Awww, knew her story , sad one

Durham Town seemed to be on permanent rotation as a kid. Didn't like him at the time especially as my dad had some of his albums. I'm more forgiving with age and must admit, Mexican Whistler makes me smile in later years. Sad he's gone as my dad enjoyed his music. RIP sir.

New World In The Morning was a good one, although personally " I, myself, don't talk about a new world in the morning "!
