The worst thing about farcical officiating

I've had time to consider this at length since weekend. I've listened to various other retired referees give their opinion and my thoughts are thus:
Atwell is a cheating ****, no other possibility. Nobody can be that incompetent having refereed professionally to not understand the simple definition of interfering with play which goes above the standard of merely touching the ball. To suggest sprinting after the ball, shielding it and feigning a shot isn't interfering with play is ludicrous and nonsensical.
Most football people have come to the realisation that the smokescreen given by PGMOL lackeys of supposed subjectivity is utter bullshit.
We have been had over by these cunts and I'm still fucking livid. Now theyre pissing down our necks and telling us it's raining.
The worst thing is the Pigmol idiots. The ref has demonstrated in the past his gross incompetence to officiate at this level. These goons however continue to justify the injustifiable and in doing so drag the game into the mire.

Couldn’t agree more, I’d also add people being deceived by wording such as ‘subjective’ we’ve seen it in the past with other buzz words such as ‘contact’ whenever multiple persons on the same gravy train starting using the same terminology I always ask myself who stands to gain? 99 times out of hundred it’s the rags dippers PL PGMOL & UEFA
The use of the term "subjective" was I felt decidedly Orwellian.

This is obviously not a likely scenario at this point, and I may be in the minority on this, but if we’re effectively out of the title race (for whatever reason), and the race for top spot is between Arsenal and United, I would want to to make sure they get 3 points at ours on 26 April.

That is the only scenario where I would want that to happen as losing at home and Arsenal winning the league (with some help from us to fuck over the league and United) is a far better outcome than that self-important shower winning it. Much easier to ignore the London cunts than our family, acquaintances, absolute morons all over social for 12 months. Besides, part of their success would be down to Pep and two of our former players, so there is some credit to be had there.

I struggle holding back the sick just imagining the Rags winning it this season.
Exactly, with a last minute Haaland screamer of an own goal

In the last five seasons United have been awarded three penalties at the ETIHAD.
One of them had been spotted by VAR, but all were correct decisions, and ultimately dispatched by Rashford, Lukaku, and Martial.

It’s a tad more difficult to recall the last three City players to score a penalty at Old Trafford, especially as one of them died in 1969.
It’s not even sour grapes, because the most blatant non-decision was the foul on Micah Richards in a certain 6-1 victory in 2011

Everyone remembers Keane’s challenge on Haaland, but how many people can recall that United were gifted more penalties in that game than City have been awarded in Pl derbies since.

Of course, if it was just the spot-kick disparity, I’d put it all down to fluky coincidence.

Similarly, if it was just the Rashford offside, or just the Cantona penalty (when nobody had appealed), or just the Kompany Red Card after five minutes, (in the days when match officials were actively encouraged to indulge an early reckless challenge by Paul Scholes) or even the late Michael Owen goal when the referee invoked an added time rule that I’ve never since seen repeated

If these decisions really do balance-out, then perhaps I’ve forgotten a Manchester Derby when United suffered from outrageous misfortune.

There’s definitely a pattern, but it’s a clever, subtle pattern.

Last season, VAR allowed the referee to overrule the initial offside, for Mahrez’ last minute goal v United, but critically, the result was already done and dusted.
In fact, City have probably won more soft penalties and benefited from more VAR decisions than virtually every Premier League opponent.

We were also fortunate at Goodison last season when there wasn’t quite enough concrete evidence to suggest that the referee had made a clear and obvious error when giving Rodri the benefit of the doubt.

Undoubtedly, we occasionally profit, but never in certain situations against certain teams.

Exactly the same against Liverpool when every man and his dog expected Milner to receive a second yellow card last season. We might be given the occasional penalty, but usually in a COVID season behind closed doors, and never in a Semi Final or Final. Meanwhile Alf Grey continues to haunt, as Micah Richards somehow concedes a penalty from kicking a ball against his own face.

With him celebrating in the centre circle with the folded leg zen pose.

But hopefully, he’ll actually be scoring against Arsenal to put us 15 points up with five games to go. ;-)

So many of you are acting like Michael Owen never scored in the 8th of 5 minutes of added time. This shit has been happening for years and it's gonna keep happening.
Good point. This is why our title's mean more. Hmm, why do I have the sudden urge to join a cult now?

Still waiting to hear a proper explanation as to why the goal was given…….the cunts are so confident they can get away with anything they know they don’t even need to walk the ordinary fan through the reasons …..just because

I think Foy has said there is a meeting on Thursday with 4 ex players and that’s when they decide they didn’t make a mistake ;)

Great Post!
Isn't it 4 pens in 5 seasons though?
18/19 Martial
19/20 Fish Fingers (given by VAR the season PGMOL went against Fifa guidance)
20/21 The Portuguese Rat
22/23 Martial

Our last league pen at home was 2007 (they got one in the same match)

Our last away pen in the league was 1992

Followed by a statement sprinkled with words like "subjective", "grey area ", "interpretation".
Concluding with "Stuart is an excellent referee and retains our full backing"
If they just came out and admitted they'd got it wrong I would still be pissed off but they try to patronise and insult everyone with their bullshit and gaslighting knowing fuck all will change as a result.
