Manchester City and Liverpool will seize on Theo Walcott’s plea to play up front to try to lure him away from Arsenal.
Both Liverpool and City are ready to promise Walcott a role in a rotating strike-force that will give him more chances to score if his contract stand-off is not resolved.

Walcott’s current deal, runs out next summer. The 23-year-old wants to stay at Arsenal, but Arsene Wenger has hinted the club will sell him in January if no new contract has been agreed.
Wenger has already warned Walcott will have to wait for a chance up front and the club are unwilling to increase their £80,000-a-week contract offer.
Although Arsenal often play with a front three, Walcott is only used on the wings and is not rotated into the middle.
Liverpool and City see Walcott playing as part of a strike-force who all swap positions throughout the game and have the licence to move inside.
At Liverpool, Walcott could comfortably play in a rotating front three with Luis Suarez and either Fabio Borini or Raheem Sterling. He could also play off either Suarez or Borini as a two.
City are prepared to tell Walcott he can play in a three with Carlos Tevez and Sergio Aguero, or operate in a two with either Edin Dzeko or Mario Balotelli.

He would be a great signing,a perfect option,with Sinclair,to switch to a more orthodox system when required.
However,if he wishes to play more,or centrally,then a move elsewhere would be his best option as his chances would not increase by coming here.

he doesnt want to play on the wing and said it has nothing to do with money why he doesnt sign, but just want to play upfront. But wenger dont fancy him one bit as a striker and now even prefers Gervinho as a striker than him which makes sense as he has more to his game than theoFantasyIreland said:

He wants to play as a striker but I don't think anybody but himself rates him in to that position, comparisons with Henry (playing style, not ability level) would be well off the mark because he is just not comfortable playing on the left side of the pitch i.e comes on for england spends 5mins on the left looks totally awkward Hodgson relisises this [a while after me though ;) ] and puts him on the right with Milner on the left, so it would seem TW just would n't have the same left channel runs that Henry would make before scoring. He is n't a winger either though what he is; is a counter attacker, can beat a man for pace and slot it across for a teamate to score or stroke one in himself but if there is no space he has a limited effect on the game. He would make a good impact sub for games against Barca, Real or even Bayern but the lack of protection that he would give his fullback would perhaps be too costly for a start, he is unlikely to want to be super-sub anyhow would be quite costly for that role, we have sinclair for now (I know hardly exciting but he should improve a bit) and if we are going for a RW RF id rather go for a classic winger like Valencia or a RF with to more his game like Lavezzi, Farfan or Sanchez, not those players but similar type as they would all be difficult to get anywhere near negotiating.
