These so called city "glory hunters"

Well, I feel like I should get in on the confessional. I'm an 18 year old in college right now, from South Florida now living in Missouri (Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke's hometown actually), and being Argentinian, I actually started following City when Tevez was signed as he played for my Dad's favorite team, Boca Juniors. The rest was just history, I'm completely obsessed. I grew up liking football and played it through high school, but because the MLS sucks and Primera A matches are so hard to get in the U.S. I never had really latched onto a team.

I now wake up at ridiculous times after ridiculous nights so that I'll never miss a match. Everytime I open up my laptop I open 2 pages, facebook and bluemoon. I consider myself to be pretty tough but the last Samir Nasri interview had me giggling like a schoolgirl. I now have the team's motto tattooed on my left arm, and you can say what you want, but that's something I did because I'm positive my passion for this club won't waver. I'm now trying to get money together for a flight and a ticket (I would love a CL match, but that might be out of my price range and I don't wanna take a ticket away from someone who's earned it), which is ridiculous since im a college student paying for studio time every week.

Back home, I'm also a huge Miami Heat supporter, had season tickets since I was a baby, and believe me, after this past year I have had a lot of experiences with glory hunting fans, so I can see where you guys are coming from. But as the guy from Seattle said, embrace it. Don't let "plastics" dilute your love for the club, keep on supporting the squad like you always have and the worldwide recognition will be even sweeter. I really think that once we've (sorry I refer to City as we now, if you dont like it then fuck off ;) ) won bags of trophies and there's pictures of a little Malaysian boy with a City shirt on all of you will be thinking "that's my fucking club".

Anyway, sorry to bore y'all but I wanted to put that out there.

I think i can be classed as a "glory hunter" aswell. Of course because im foreign and i haven't ever even been in england. But i have been a City fan since i started to follow the EPL 2 years ago, and im 17. I use bluemoon everyday and im not afraid to post because i know pretty much about football because i have played it all my life. And follow it closely. :)

Its great that we can agree on City. Because my hatred for Lebron runs deeeeeeeep. Haha. As an NBA mercenary (i cant just go pick some team ive been rooting against for 20 years. The supes will be back!) its my duty.

Haha I can definitely understand that, it was a disgrace how they got stolen from you guys, but I agree some team will be relocated back to Seattle pretty soon, its just too good of a market. Shame you had to miss out on this current team though, they're looking awesome.

I've been a City fan since I was 5 so I am definitley not a "glory hunter"
Back to the original post, where I sit and round and about town there seems not to be too many glory hunters of course there is the odd twat who hasn't got a clue but on the whole I don't think we have too many glory hunters and if you look at the average attendance including away fans since we moved to COMS/Etihad:
2003-04- 46,834
2004-05- 45,192
2005-06- 45,342
2006-07- 41,000
2007-08- 43,126
2008-09- 43,900
2009-10- 45,512
2010-11- 45,900
If we had so many glory hunters the attendance would have shot up dramatically but it didn't and also we had a better attendance in 2003-04 than we had after the takeover
So I personally think that if these glory hunters exist they definitley don't go very much to COMS/Etihad

I always get looks now wearing my City shirt down here from people thinking this I just think ffs ive been a City fan since 1974 when I first took interest and My Uncle sent me down my first City kit have loved the ride ever since and touch wood have not met any plastics yet

I'm a long term supporter myself.

I remember my first day as a City supporter very well.

1st September 2008. Been following them ever since then, through thick and thin.
