When the criminals are free to roam, or rape or murder innocent victims as well as fellow gangbangers with little fear that a homeowner or citizen will be able to defend themselves, then you can see that there are no deterrents for them to run wild, and run wild they do.

And no, not all deaths are the same, some are avoidable. Notice how many gun deaths Germany, France, Australia, UK, Ireland, Norway, Finland, Holland, Luxembourg and Spain (a population greater than that of the USA) have each year? The answer is less than the DAILY gun death toll in the States. Can you guess why?

By definition ALL gun deaths are criminal related, even suicide which is technically against the law. The NRA espouses bullshit and would never present facts in a way that might not make people paranoid and think they need to buy more guns.

The fact is that it isn't realistic to think you can protect yourself with a gun. If somebody breaks into your house they don't call first and tell you so you can get your gun and have it loaded and ready, they just break in and surprise you. The realistic option is to get the hell out of the house and call the police. Now I know that the person may steal your laptop and that is obviously worth killing somebody over (sarcasm) but what if you do get your gun and confront them? It's still possible they could kill you since you're not actually trained in any way to handle that type of situation (unless watching Die Hard counts as training). But the NRA fills people's simple minds with delusional thoughts of them killing a bunch of "bad guys" and becoming famous for being a crime fighter.

Murders are actually down in Chicago over the last ten years compared to the prior ten years. But since the NRA says different you can just keep ignoring math. The last ten years there have been 4,652 murders and the prior there were 6,365 so if you believe in math you might find this interesting.

I read it, sweet cheeks. You just aren't as informed as I am about this topic. Chicago has historically had very strict gun laws for the law abider. Crime and gun murder has been rampant. Outside of Chicago where law abiding citizens are allowed to protect themselves thanks to sensible gun laws, crime, gun crime and gun murder rates are significantly lower. Where do the majority of mass shootings occur? Schools, cinemas, all places where guns are not allowed which creates a vacuum for unhindered ciminals to run wild.

But if you wish to speak of ignoring posts, then I suggest you go back earlier in this thread in which I talk about how in the UK, home burglary to use just one example but also all kinds of other crimes are out of control. Compared to Texas, burglars are laughing here in the UK.
