Your condescending response doesn't suggest that you could respect a differing view other than yours.
It is true that wars are fought using guns. If it weren't for guns, Hitler may have won and we'd all be speaking German apart from the Jews who would have been eradicated whilst the rest of us lived in complete fascism.
Your second point is where you mention mass murderers. Who? Like Mao, Hitler, Stalin?
Do you know how many those 3 alone murdered? Millions. Millions of people killed. How were they able to kill so many? They made it illegal for the Jews to own guns in Hitlers case. The others banned private ownership of guns so that people could not defend themselves.
Now, of course, any death is regrettable but obviously we as a society do deem a certain amount of death as acceptable. People die in car accidents and drown in swimming pools but we don't ask to ban them even though more die from car accidents each year than from guns.
The car argument is really one of the poorest and facile arguments. If the car had been built and designed to run people over or cause maximum damage in crashes and that was its sole purpose I can guarantee 100% cars would be illegal.
