for the 1st time since the start of the financial melt down, i actually heard a Tory on question last night say, "we are in a world recession". hallelujah.

i wonder if they knew all along but were too shy about saying ;)
True yet some would blame the previous government for the fact that the worlds banks played Russian Roulette and the gun fired

... they have announced the following:

Substantial rise in income tax allowances for lowest paid from April 2011

New tax on financial transactions, clampdown on "unacceptable" bonuses

Investment to reduce class sizes for children from poorer backgrounds

Cut in number of MPs and equal size constituencies

Right of the public to "recall" corrupt MPs

Review of Scottish MPs voting on England-only legislation

No further powers ceded to EU without referendum

NHS spending to rise in real terms every year of the Parliament

Great Repeal Bill including abolition of ID cards

Restore the link between the state pension and earnings from April 2011

Benefits to be conditional on willingness to work

Tax break for married couples and civil partners

A 5% pay cut for ministers & a pay freeze for the duration of this parliament

Some of these announcements must really be pissing off some of you bitter losers on here :-)

At last we have a governement in touch with the people of its country.

It is laughable to think anyone would believe this is a realistic set of policies that a Tory controlled government would put in place.

This is the same tory party who have done their best to -

1. Stop spending on the NHS - the use of "real term" supports this. Senior member has gone on record stating the NHS is the biggest catastrophe this country has ever undertaken. The NHS is fucked, as is our health.

2. Stop spending on schools, especially those in poor areas. The reduction of class sizes for schools in poor areas - is a tory policy of reducing class sizes - added to a libdem acknowledgement that people from poor backgrounds are monumentally more disadvantaged than those who went to all the schools the Tories went to.

It has been and will continue to be a Tory policy to cut spending on Education, and rely on private spending for schools (and universities) - this was what the Big Society was supposed to be about - and this results in rich parents funding rich schools, and schools in poor areas dieing - creating crime etc etc.etc.

3. Prevent a "New tax on financial transactions"!! haha - the Tories taxing their main supporters and funders. The Conservative Party rely on the speculative financial sector - their driving ideology is free trade/ free market radicalism - a tax on financial sector and cap on bonuses would surmount to the Tories not being Tories. The tories have and continue to support the freedom of the markets and no regulation whatsoever.

This is all on the presumption the Tories will dominate the coalitiion. which I think they will. Unfortunately, our jobs our going to be lost, crime will go up, our health will suffer - but atleast the financial sector will survive - and the bankers can continue to overaccumulate profits which theyre not taxed on. cos thats what its all about right?!

ps. the ID card scrapping is good.

yeah all you can do is guess what you THINK he might really do - because he hasnt doesnt anything yet, I can't say what he will definitely do - who knows he could buddy up with Cuba and swap aid for teachers and doctors!!

BUT I can point to what he and the Tory ministers have been trying to do for their whole political careers, and what they have said they will do if they get into power - I think this is a little bit of an indication of what they might do now they are in power.

None of the stuff I said is made up - the tory minister who called the NHS a huge 'marxist' mistake - you can watch on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FiSPRkq28iU.

The removing funding for schools, and relying on private investment (mummies and daddies) is in their manifesto! Under the Big Society scheme. and was also done under Thatcher and Major.

The fact that the Tories support free and unregulated markets is just common knowledge. Thats what the Tories are about - you can google 'free market' and 'Conservatives' for that.

they also sit with Neo-Nazis in the European Parliament, and have attempted to block all equality legislation - look at the new Equalities Minister's voting record on equality measures. shes a dick. but thats just an aside.

im not a NuLabour supporter , they're pretty much Tory-Lite with some spin. Labour do shit things and lie about it, the Tories quite openly just do shit things!!

Just couldnt believe anyone would disregard what the Tories have said they believe in time and time again - and just believe this set of proposals will be put in place.

I might be wrong though.

you can show individual examples nowadays from youtube etc to fit any circumstances but I think you are ignoring the reality of the situation we are in - public spending and the taxes to pay for it have rocketed during the labour years and we don't have services that are worth the increases. Labour just want to be in total control of everything and if the opposite of that is "Free Market" in some areas then why not? Mrs Thatcher said in 1979 "labour always run out of other peoples money" - still true today!

He's not a tory minister. He's not even an MP for the UK Parliament. Hope the disingenuous twat loses any election in the future - as he well might. Where did he say it was 'marxist' (sic) by the way? If he did though he's not wrong. It is a Marxist idea.

I like, especially that about Jocks voting on English policies, imo we should be able to vote in Welsh, Scottish and Irish elections if all of those are able to vote in ours.

why dont you get your own parliament then?
